Camden's Maintenance Apprentice Program provides an exceptional gateway into one of the nation's top multi-family management organizations. Camden will immerse each apprentice in the daily maintenance operations at one of our premier communities. Apprentices will be under the supervision of a seasoned Camden maintenance supervisor and paired with an outstanding property management team to achieve hands-on maintenance skills and exposure to the phenomenal Camden culture. Each apprentice will learn and put into practice all facets of residential maintenance functions, customer service strategies, and community policies and procedures. Upon completion of the 6-12 week program apprentices will be evaluated and, if deemed qualified, have the opportunity to be hired as a full-time employee in a maintenance role with Camden. Qualifications:
Six months of maintenance experience, preferably in the apartment industry
High School Diploma preferred; certification from an accredited trade school highly desired
EPA Type I, Type II or Universal certification strongly preferred
Demonstrate knowledge of technical skills as it relates to apartment maintenance
Handle tile work, carpentry repairs and all facets of the make ready process
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical and all other systems at the community
Must have dependable transportation to/from work and be able to accommodate a rotating on-call schedule. A valid driver's license is required for employees who work at communities utilizing Low Speed Vehicles.

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Completes assigned work orders generated from resident requests for service, as well as preventative maintenance on the property by diagnosing the source or cause of the defect or problem, and making repairs in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety standards, and code requirements.
2. Completes the "make-ready" process to prepare vacant apartment homes for leasing and new move-ins by completing the pre-move-out inspection, creating a "punch" list of maintenance work needed, scheduling vendors and contractors as needed, obtaining needed supplies and materials, completing all maintenance tasks, and inspecting completed work.
3. Follows procedures for accessing and obtaining materials, supplies, equipment, tools, and other items from the property's maintenance department by tracking inventory used, returning unused items to the established location, and notifying the maintenance supervisor about re-ordering needs.
4. Completes documentation and other paperwork in a timely, accurate, and complete fashion so that service requests can be appropriately documented and tracked.
5. Assists in maintaining the grounds, common areas, and amenities by picking up trash and debris, pressure-washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as needed.
6. Supports cost-cutting and expense control programs by fixing rather than replacing parts when possible, not being wasteful with materials and supplies, and practicing the correct use for tools and equipment.

About the Role
As a MaintenanceTechnician II, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our residential community.
