What is needed to be an Ability Camp Counselor: * 18+ years of age * Experience working with the Special Needs community (professional, volunteer, or familial) * 1+ years of experience working with children * Experience in aquatics, fitness, or related activities * Excellent communication skills * Ensure that programs are executed to meet the needs of all ages, abilities, and skill levels as well as maintaining safety and well-being of campers The responsibilities we trust to our Ability Camp Counselors: * Supervise and engage Ability Campers in regularly scheduled camp activities and provide pull-out opportunities for campers who may need them * Provide instructional support and age appropriate progressive skill development in the program * Adapt program activities according to camper's needs * Provide feedback to participants and parents/guardians on individual performance * Ensure program area is safe and clear of any hazards What you can expect as an Ability Camp Counselor: * Support from an amazing team which includes training you on expectations * Opportunities to learn and grow * Being a part of a non-profit organization that works to make the community stronger * Great members to work with every day!
