Statement of the Job: As a Summer Camp Coordinator at Blueberry Cove, your role is pivotal in ensuring the success of diverse Summer Programs. Collaborating closely with the Director and program leadership team, you'll be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating our overnight camp, leadership and trips programs. You will serve as a mentor for staff, providing supervision, support, and feedback. The Summer Camp Coordinator supports the intangible magic of camp, melding education, engagement, and fun creatively. You have a deep appreciation for summer camp and are committed to creating positive, life-changing experiences for campers and staff. $800 a week stipend for 10 weeks, including paid training, paid in bi-weekly installments. You need a minimum of 3 years related experience working with youth and teaching in the outdoors or equivalent AND/OR You need to have these current certifications or have held these certifications in the past and are willing to obtain them again. Camp may be able to provide certification Waterfront Lifeguard CPR and First Aid Preferred: You have a valid US driver's license and are eligible to be authorized and approved as a university driver based on the Driver Administration Policy. This camp is licensed by the State of Maine. You must meet the State of Maine requirement for driving vehicles, "Drivers of vehicles carrying campers must be at least 21 years of age and be approved by the camp's auto liability insurer's agent." You hold a higher additional certification that is specific to the outdoors like: Wilderness Responder Certification You have a genuine motivation to work with children in a vibrant, high-energy outdoor setting where every day is an adventure. You demonstrate responsible and safe decision-making skills, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for all campers during outdoor programming You hold a First Aid and Basic Life Support certification or are eager to obtain one before the start date to ensure the safety and well-being of campers. You have the ability to lead groups in various outdoor environments, comfortably carrying a small backpack filled with teaching supplies and a first aid kit to support your activities. Camp runs from June 21st -August 8th, 2026 (potential dates available through August 26th, 2026). Counselors are responsible for campers at all times of day and night except when on time off. Time off is one 24-hour period off per week between camp sessions, and 2 hours off per day. Additional time off and vacations will be discussed and approved prior to the start of the camp season. Some counselors will be asked to work intersessions, the period from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon between sessions, with additional time off given either before or after working this session. Compensation and Benefits This position's base salary begins at $600 per week; actual salary will reflect level of experience and qualifications relative to position requirements.
