Perform other duties as assigned. Physical and Environmental Standards: Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including wind, rain, snow, heat, humidity, sun, and cold. Requires physical ability to traverse uneven terrain and perform tasks such as standing, walking, crouching, bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 60 pounds unassisted.     The Cabin Life Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that campers experience a safe, values- based, and engaging camp environment. This position will mentor and lead three Unit Coordinators and will be a member of the summer Leadership Team. Job Requirements: Must posses a cooperative spirit and be committed to character development by promoting and demonstrating caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility to campers, staff, and program participants. Must demonstrate leadership qualities-allowing for the development of personal and professional interpersonal relationships with staff, campers, parents, and others. Must be committed to the mission of YMCA Camp Shady Brook and be an advocate and role model for staff and campers alike. Experience and/or previous training in youth camping. Physical and Mental Requirements: Physically fit and able to hike, walk, stand, bend and lift comfortably over the course of a day. Mentally alert to recognize potential hazards and accidents. Physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies and administer emergency care effectively. Job Segments Work with the Camp Program Director to develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate cabin life and values-based programming. Provide leadership and administrative support as directed by coordinating, organizing, or leading camp activities or by providing administrative office support as needed. Supervise staff leads, cabin counselors and others as assigned. Responsible for camper awards/beads, values awards nominations, and scholarship letters Participate in Leadership Team training prior to staff training Prepare for, assist in leading, and actively participate in staff training and staff meetings. Direct programs that meet or exceed ACA and state standards. Assume responsibility for the heath/welfare of campers and staff entrusted to his/her charge. Act as a positive role model for campers and other staff, demonstrating the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in the performance of job duties. Observe camper and staff behavior and assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior management techniques. Consult with the Camp Program Director daily concerning problems that need to be addressed and/or excellent staff performance. Complete routine and required forms to include, but not limited to: staff evaluations, program supply requests, maintenance request forms, and incident and injury reports. Serve as support to staff leads and counselors with campers that require additional behavior management techniques. Evaluate current season, make suggestions, and create Cabin Life Coordinator manual. To perform all other duties as needed or assigned. These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required. Salary is $480.00/weekly Qualifications Qualifications At least 21 years of age. Previous camp leadership. High School diploma or equivalent required Able to direct and supervise summer staff. CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Oxygen and First Aid Certifications

Physical and Environmental Standards: Ability to work outdoors in varying and sometimes extreme weather conditions including heat, humidity, sun, wind, rain, cold, and snow. Must be able to walk, hike, sit, crouch, bend, kneel, stoop, and reach; lift, push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds unassisted. Vision requirements include near and far acuity; must be able to hear, speak, and communicate effectively.
