Camp Counselors are expected to be role models and provide meaningful experiences for their campers. This position is supervised by the Camp Directors and full-time Recreation Program Specialist. This position is part-time and does not qualify for benefits. A SAMPLE OF THE ESSENTIALS: * Actively leads participants in active/passive games, arts and crafts, food experiences, outdoor activities, science experiments, and others scheduled by Camp Directors. * Effectively communicates at all times with Camp Directors. * Monitor campers, with support of full-time staff, who have medical/inclusion accommodations. * Administers first aid. * Documents injuries and behavior incidents alongside Camp Directors. * Identifies unsafe situations and work hazards, corrects them if possible and reports them to their supervisor. * Implements camp rules and maintains behavior management policies in a positive manner. * Maintain clean work and play areas. * Carries out job duties in a safe manner in accordance with all Town policies; follows safety procedures. * Driving a mini bus for field trips. Position Summary: Outdoor Camp Counselors lead nature-based day camps for children ages 5-12. Each counselor co-leads a group of up to 15 campers, along with a teen Counselor-in-Training (CIT).
