Qualifications
Education/Experience: High School graduate with some camp and/or childcare experience preferred. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, public relations, organizational and planning skills. Moderate skill and knowledge in the use of personal computers and Google Workspace. Excellent problem identification, problem resolution, time management, customer service, communications and interpersonal skills.
Language Skills: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with coworkers, supervisors, children, parents, the general public; ability to prepare meaningful, concise, and accurate reports; ability to give presentations.
Attendance: Being present at the designated camp is an essential function and is required as part of a regular Monday - Friday, 40-hour work week. Hours are dependent on assigned camp, with occasional overtime as necessary.

CampCounselors typically work up to 5 days/40 hours per week, but part-time schedules can be arranged. Normal working hours are between 7:15 a.m. and 5:45 p.m., Monday - Friday. Occasional evening or weekend work may be available/requested. Additional pre-summer trainings and in-service staff meetings throughout the summer are also required. Attend daily morning medical meetings (as needed) and coordinate with medical, psychosocial, and cabin staff on camper care needs
Observe camper behavior and assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and provide suitable behavior support techniques
Collaborate with psychosocial and cabin staff to address camper behavior concerns
Support, lead, and evaluate cabin staff and volunteers
Collaborate with Staff Leader to plan and implement staff appreciation initiatives and events
Coordinate break schedules for seasonal staff and volunteers
Assist the Program Team with implementation of village and full camp activities
Fill role(s) on the emergency staffing table as needed

The Counselor in Training (CIT) position is for candidates who are 15 years or older who have an interest working with children in a camp setting but may not have any prior work experience or meet the minimum requirements of the CampCounselor position. Under the direction of the camp Leadership Team, CIT'S provide leadership and guidance to campers through a variety of games, crafts, sports, outdoor exploration and other activities. CIT's may assist with supervision of campers, lead programs based on pre-arranged activities/recreational themes, help with set up and tidying of activity areas, engage/play with campers during free times, and assist with other routine functions such as camper check-in/out and completion of daily checklists.
* Assists CampCounselors and the Camp Leadership Team in supervising campers and leading activities as part of the day camp experience.
* Act as a role model to camp participants, co-workers, and camp parents in both attitude and appropriate behavior, remaining professional and respectful, as described in the staff manual.
* Follows all camp policies and procedures, as described in the staff manual.
* Provides positive customer service.

Experience
