As a Youth Activities Counselor, you will work in partnership with our Entertainment Host team, by providing program support to ensure all department and shipboard goals are met. You will report to the Youth Activities Manager **Responsibilities :** + Work with and oversee all children participating in Youth Activities programs, ages 3-17 years old + Support the set-up for all facilitated activities and accomplish clean-up tasks upon completion of programs; monitor audio and lighting needs + Help with the cleaning and sanitizing of spaces and objects, before, during, and after the facilities open; keep all spaces tidy during operating hours + Provide registration/check-in/check-out services for Guests in children's spaces on the ship and Disney Castaway Cay/ Disney Lookout Cay; operate multiple computer programs + Prepare food trays for children during meal or snack times + Present small-scale activities independently or with other Youth Counselors + Perform meet-and-greet functions in the Oceaneer's Club and Oceaneer's Lab for children and parents on embarkation day.     Job DescriptionThe main function of the Counselor-in-Training is to assist Camp Director, Camp Leadership and Counselors with certain summer camp duties during summer camp. This is a volunteer, un-paid position. CIT's earn Service Hours that may be applied to required service hours for school, church, Scouts, clubs and organizations. CIT's who perform well are considered for rehire in a paid counselor position the following year. Position Availability: End of May through the first week of August. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Engage campers in all scheduled activities. Follow a daily schedule as directed by a supervisor or Camp Director. Assist with breakfast, lunch and snacks. Help supervise campers on all field trips. Help take a head count and call roll before each departure from camp and each departure from field trips. Help assist the counselors with activities as directed. Engage campers in scheduled activities; motivate and encourage participation. Help organize group for on-campus events and arrive on time for all events. Report all camper illness or injuries and treat with first aid as needed. Assist in the dismissal of campers. Escort campers to aftercare, bus area, or carpool according to dismissal procedures. Assist with camp cleaning as directed by group leader or Camp Director. Other Duties and Responsibilities: Required to follow all rules, regulations and procedures listed in the Counselor Handbook. Required to attend all assigned orientations, trainings, and set-ups prior to the beginning of camp. Be prepared to work in different areas of camp, working with a group, swimming lessons, kitchen, clean-up, arts/crafts, assisting in the office. Understand that you will be evaluated every week during camp. Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Must be physically and mentally able to meet the challenges of navigating and working in destination-based facilities. Reporting and Relationships: The Counselor-in-Training of a Kidcam Camp reports to their direct Supervisor, and the Director. Extent of Public Contact: Greet parents in the morning.
