Preschool Camp Coordinator Summer 2026 The Town of Westwood seeks an organized and team-oriented individual for the seasonal position of Preschool Camp Coordinator for the Westwood Recreation Department Sunny Days Program. This position is responsible for supervising 30 campers ages 3-5 years old and 8 Counselors. The Preschool Camp Coordinator works with the Recreation Program Manager to plan and implement special events, staff schedules and daily activities. They are responsible for the general safety and development of participants in the Sunny Days Program, as well as trouble shooting any problems that may arise.
The position is approximately 32-35 hours per week while camp is in session, June 22-August 14, 2026. Part-time, pre-season planning hours are necessary and flexible in the winter and spring.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Plan, implement and administer daily operations of the Preschool Camp including staffing, daily programming, special events and budgets.
* Manage Preschool Camp staff including training, scheduling and communication.
* Implement department safety and emergency policies to maintain health, safety and welfare of all campers and staff.
* Establish positive rapport and on-going communication with campers and parents/guardians. Prepare a weekly calendar of activities for parents.
* Oversee the use of equipment and keep facilities in good condition.
* Work collaboratively with Program Manager in pre-season to coordinate planning activities, order supplies, and assist with budget preparation.
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelors degree in Recreation, Early Education, or related field; Teacher Certification preferred; three years supervisory camp/program experience required; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent communication and leadership skills necessary.
Special Requirements/Certifications: First Aid and CPR/AED certification by start of camp. Coordinator must be comfortable with typical preschool childcare situations including bathroom-related issues.
Schedule Requirements:
* Mandatory staff trainings June 9-11, 4:00-8:00 PM.
* Work commitment 8:30 AM3:30 PM Monday-Friday, June 22-August 14, 2026 (No July 3rd).
Salary and Benefits: This is a seasonal, non-benefit position with a starting hourly rate of $23.00 - $28.00 commensurate with experience. Eligible for a $500 perfect attendance bonus. Employee Discount of 100% on in-house programs, e.g., camp for full-time staff and their immediate family.

YMCA Camp Frank A. Day, or "CFAD" as many campers and alum call it, is a coed summer overnight camp west of Boston in beautiful East Brookfield, MA. Summer after summer, Camp Frank A. Position Summary
As an Aide/Behavioral Counselor I, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, therapeutic, and engaging learning environment for youth with complex emotional and behavioral needs.
Reporting to the Education Supervisors and in collaboration with clinical services, the Aide/Behavioral Counselor I supports students' academic and emotional growth within a structured educational setting.
The Aide/Behavioral Counselor I conducts ongoing assessments of each student's behavior, engagement, and response to their environment, making real-time adjustments to care and behavior plans as needed to maintain a positive and supportive milieu.
Working alongside the Behavioral Specialist, this position provides comprehensive behavioral support, social skills instruction, and crisis management while helping to foster a safe and encouraging classroom environment.
In collaboration with the classroom teacher, the Aide/Behavioral Counselor I promotes the transfer and generalization of learning strategies, study skills, and positive social behaviors. This role also helps set the tone and structure of the classroom, ensuring that both students and staff can successfully engage in daily educational and treatment activities.

* Integrates specialized clinical approaches to promote emotionally positive and behaviorally supportive classrooms.
* Conducts ongoing assessment of each student's behavior and response to their environment and the overall tone of the milieu, making real-time adjustments to care and behavior plans as needed throughout the shift.
* Provides comprehensive behavioral support, social skills instruction, and crisis management, fostering a safe, structured, and positive learning environment for students with complex emotional and behavioral needs.
* Assists in the development of applied functional behavior plans and classroom behavior management strategies.
* Applies and monitors interventions outlined in applied functional behavior plans to ensure consistency, effectiveness, and individualized support for each student.
* Performs other related duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the program and promote a positive, therapeutic educational environment.

Qualifications
Education:Completion of at least two years of college study or an Associate's Degree is required.
Experience:A minimum of six months of experience in a related field. Student internships or volunteer work may be credited toward this experience.
Skills and Abilities:• Strong behavioral observation skills are essential, along with patience, emotional stamina, and a consistent, supportive approach.• Strong social and communication skills are valued to effectively participate as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships, understand human development, and engage students in appropriate social interactions.• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with co-workers at all professional levels to ensure effective behavioral interventions.• Knowledge and understanding of behavioral technology, including contingency management and ongoing behavioral assessment, is required; the ability to apply and execute these strategies is preferred.• Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics is preferred.• Advanced knowledge or specialized training in child development, behavioral programming, social skills instruction, crisis management, and creating positive learning environments is preferred.
Training:Specialized training consistent with the expectations of the Aide/Behavioral Counselor I role is preferred. On-the-job training is provided, with successful completion required for continued employment.
Other Requirements:A current, valid driver's license from the state of residence is required.

Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
Marketing and distribution efforts. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations
Plan and create innovative age-appropriate program activities and develop lesson plans that align with our Leaders Club, Youth & Government, Teen, and MAP Programs.
Assist in the program
Maintain attendance and complete incident reporting.
Observes the functioning of participants and reports progress and change to supervisors.
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of program participants by providing close supervision of all activities
Work as a member of a professional team that provides a positive growth-promoting environment for all children
Keep the facility clean and conduct safety sweeps before beginning activities. Always know the whereabouts of all participants and the number of children in your care.
Understand and communicate the YMCA philosophy and the goals of the Teen Program to the participants and parents.
Meets at designated times with assigned supervisor to review progress
Maintains the assigned work schedule that is in line with camp days and hours.
Reports to work consistently, reliably, and at the scheduled times.
Qualifications:
Two years of related experience working with Teen and at-risk youth preferred
Minimum age of 18
Within 30 days of hire, completion of Working with Program Volunteers, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens training
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
Driver's License preferred
