The Afterschool Counselor is responsible for picking up children from their respective schools and bringing them to their 92NY Afterschool Clubhouse rooms (classrooms divided by grade). Afterschool's year runs from September 8th- June 12th.
Staff hours are from 2:20-6:20 pm. This may change based on the needs of the program.
There will be mandatory staff training in advance of the start date as well as bi-monthly staff meetings after children are dismissed.
Daily supervision of children which includes pick-up at local UES elementary schools including PS 77, PS 198, PS 527, PS 6, PS 151, Hunter, and TAG and bring the children to and from enrichment classes within 92NY.
Create and implement age-appropriate curricula for your Clubhouse Room
Work with the Room Supervisor and the other counselors to implement curriculum and support all children.
Support children with their homework.
Provide support and assistance to children while respecting their privacy and sense of self-worth so that they can meaningfully engage in your activity.
Assume responsibilities for the health, safety, and well-being of children while they are present at your activity area.
Communicate regularly to Director or Program Coordinator, any observations or concerns regarding the needs of individual children.
Participate in staff orientation and staff meeting program. Review and understand the policies of Afterschool as set forth in the Staff manual and comply with its rules and regulations, including dress code and emergency procedures.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is hiring approximately 40 total Conservation CampCounselors (CCC) to work with its on-site summer camps facilitated out of our 4 zoos and 1 aquarium in New York City. This is a unique opportunity to explore education at an informal science institution. You will work part-time in the WCS Education Department. You will report to work on-site at the New York Aquarium - this is not a remote work opportunity. RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Conservation CampCounselor (CCC) you will:

The Supervisory Attorney for Training, Assigned Counsel Plan will create, implement and manage a training, mentoring and continuing legal education (CLE) program for 18-B Panel attorneys on criminal law, evidence, criminal procedure, immigration and a variety of other areas that impact the representation of indigent persons charged with crimes.
Under the direction of the Assigned Counsel Plan Administrators and working in partnership with the 1st and 2nd Appellate Divisions of New York State and the Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice, the Training Director will develop and implement innovative solutions to establish and maintain a comprehensive training program.
The desired candidate will:
- Initiate outreach to 18-B Panel attorneys, the courts, bar associations and other organizations to assess training needs and to ensure that the Assigned Counsel Plan is conducting training and continuing legal education designed to prepare 18-B panel attorneys for representing indigent persons charged with crimes.
- Identify and engage presenters who have expertise in a variety of categories and working with those presenters to make classes useful and educational for 18-B panel attorneys
- Develop training and CLE classes in a variety of formats, such as live training and webinars.
- Arrange for the recording of live programs and webinars and posting previously recorded sessions on-line.
- Create new and update existing materials for trainings.
- Implement pre and post-training assessments and use data from those assessments to guide future programming.

- Inform 18-B Panel attorneys of training and CLE opportunities offered by bar associations, law schools, the courts and defender advocacy groups.
