The Kids Camp Counselor leads children through a variety of activities including rock climbing, swimming, weekly field trips, arts & crafts, gym games and more. What qualifications do I need to be a Health Officer? Maintains health for all of camp - uses camp medical standing orders and camp health officer training to guide decision making. Maintains health log. In charge of health room/cabinets/boxes. Main person for serious first aid. Provides consultations to staff: First Aid as needed. In charge of med passing - hands off emergency meds to GCs to keep on their person. Does beginning of the week health and safety checks for all campers. Point of contact to parents - child's health. Minimum of 2 years of college completed in a related field is preferred. Must have minimum of 2 years' experience in working with children. Requirements What qualifications do I need to have in order to be a Camp Coordinator? High school diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum of 2 years of college completed in a related field is preferred. Must have minimum of 2 years' experience in working with children. Experience hiring, training & supervising staff is preferred. The incumbent must demonstrate creativity, enthusiasm and dedication. Incumbent must have experience working with youth in a group setting, and creating and implementing lesson plans. Additionally, s/he should possess the skills necessary to provide safe, appropriate and fun activities. Must be CPR and First Aid certified prior to employment. Ability to communicate and listen effectively as well as a willingness to learn. Must be able to learn and use YMCA specific software within 30 days of employment. What qualifications do I need to have in order to be an Inclusion Specialist? This position requires a desire to work with children. Must be 21 years of age and a positive role model for children. High school degree or equivalent is required. At least two (2) years of undergraduate work in youth development, psychology, social work, education or a related field is required. Evidence of work towards a graduate degree is preferred. At least 1-year experience in camp or classroom management with youth ages 5-14 years old is required. At least 6 months experience working with children with special needs is preferred. Demonstrated communication, (verbal or written), organization, creative problem solving, and human relations skills. Multi-lingual ability is preferred.
