Summer Camp Coordinator Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM) is seeking a Summer Camp Coordinator to join our Summer Camp team. The Camp Coordinator will support camp leadership and staff, coordinate program logistics and fulfill administrative duties. They will be also responsible for maintaining a positive and educational environment for campers and camp staff. Ideal candidates will have deep commitment to and passion for research-backed teaching practice, love, and respect for young children and their enormous capabilities, and interest in serving in an evolving camp community. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Availability to work during the designated seasonal camp sessions between June 8th and August 21st, 2026. Supports Discovery Camp Facilitators and serves as a substitute facilitator if needed. Supports Senior and Junior Camp Facilitators on breaks and with setting up activities. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree or some college coursework preferred; a degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is a plus. Previous experience in teaching or child-focused roles, with experience supporting children ages 3-8. Experience working in an informal education, summer camp, or early childhood education setting. Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification and Mandated Reporter training (provided by the Bay Area Discovery Museum) Demonstrates the ability to manage classrooms or lead youth groups effectively. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with campers, caregivers, colleagues, and families from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Works collaboratively as part of a team while following direction effectively. Takes initiative and works independently when needed. Exhibits a mature, reliable, and hard-working attitude. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The employee is required to: Hike and traverse uneven terrain throughout Fort Baker National Park for several miles every day. Read and understand Camp Training documents containing text and/or numbers. Ability to perform physical activities including bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking, reaching, grasping, handling, and standing for periods of up to 8 hours.
