Benefits Job Description
Harford Community College is seeking two (2) seasonal Camp Coordinators for our Summer Youth Camps. Camp season begins June 22, 2026, and continues through August 14, 2026.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating daily operations of camp and enforcing camp operational and safety procedures; supporting camp staff with medical and behavioral concerns of campers; communicating effectively with parents/guardians, staff, and campers; collecting and maintaining camper enrollment documentation, attendance records and other paperwork associated with camps; and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Camp Coordinators are required to attend employee training, to be scheduled the week of June 8th, as well as support with camp preparation the week before camp begins (June 15th - 19th).
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

General Weekly Work Schedule

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Help lead summertime camps at the Robinson Nature Center (RNC). Participants engage in nature study, environmental study and/or other outdoor pursuits. Under direction of the Naturalist, the leader assists with instruction and supervision for nature camps. Camp leaders work 15-35 hrs a week (Monday-Friday) from late May through late August.
DUTIES:
* Assist in the planning, implementation and supervision of a recreation program in the nature programming area.
* Instruct camp participants in certain aspects of nature and environmental study. Assists in the direction of the participants.
* Ensure that participants conduct themselves in a proper manner so as not to endanger themselves or others. Secure medical assistance for anyone who may be injured during an activity.
* Assist with the inspection of areas and equipment used for programs on a daily basis for potentially hazardous or unsafe condition.

Job Summary

Organize and lead a variety of small and large group activities, which may include crafts, nature, songs, games, etc.
Have positive interactions with the children, which can include teaching your favorite games, teaching them to knit or play the guitar, etc.
KAH Greeters assist parents with drop off and pick up, provide any important information from the day, and answer questions. You will also communicate with parents about participant's experiences and report concerns to Leadership.
Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with childcare and all program areas. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for children's safety and their whereabouts at all times. You will also be responsible for knowing and understanding all emergency procedures associated with the program.
