Harford Community College is seeking two (2) seasonal Camp Coordinators for our Summer Youth Camps. Camp season begins June 22, 2026, and continues through August 14, 2026.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating daily operations of camp and enforcing camp operational and safety procedures; supporting camp staff with medical and behavioral concerns of campers; communicating effectively with parents/guardians, staff, and campers; collecting and maintaining camper enrollment documentation, attendance records and other paperwork associated with camps; and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Camp Coordinators are required to attend employee training, to be scheduled the week of June 8th, as well as support with camp preparation the week before camp begins (June 15th - 19th).

Length of Employment: Summer camps run from June through August. Staff training will be held prior to the first week of camp. While this position is primarily seasonal, there may be additional opportunities for work in the Spring and Fall.
Essential Functions
Provide one-on-one or small-group support to campers with diverse physical, emotional, or neurodivergent needs
Adapt activities, routines, and communication styles to meet individual camper abilities and goals
Support campers with daily living tasks as needed (e.g., transitions, emotional regulation, personal care, mobility support)
Maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment that promotes inclusion and participation
Collaborate closely with fellow counselors, adaptive staff, and leadership
Model patience, empathy, and respectful behavior at all times
Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging behaviors or emotional moments using camp-approved strategies
Ensure the safety of campers at all times and maintain attendance
Maintain professional and positive interactions with parents during drop off and pick up

Summary
