To offer full transparency, the Summer Adventure Camp Program is in the second phase of redesign. The new model of Summer Adventure Camp will continue to build on a stronger emphasis of outdoor programming and field trips, including traditional walking, biking, and people mover outings. Additionally, we will continue to include weekly visits to Camp Fireweed and other exciting excursions, expanding the scope of experiences offered.

Program Overview
Location: SAC operates out of multiple Anchorage School District elementary schools ranging from Anchorage to Eagle River. (Locations TBD)
Program Hours: SAC program operates from 7:30am - 5:30pm, Monday - Friday.
Program Dates: Late May, beginning with start-up training and running through Late July/Early August.

Site Director Level Positions:
Unit Leader
The unit leader is responsible for the overall management and supervision of assigned units (camper/staff groups), overseeing all aspects of youth and staff supervision and safety.
Lead Field Trip Specialist
The Lead Field Trip Specialist will plan, organize, prep and facilitate all field trips for their program. This will include a variety of one big weekly field trip, weekly visits to Camp Fireweed and local walking, biking or people mover field trips.
Lead Activity Specialist
The Lead Activity Specialist will be responsible for supporting and overseeing the activity specialists with planning, management, and implementation of specialized activities and curriculum. They will oversee the activity budget, execute activity supply procurement and train/coach staff on activity facilitation.
Lead Behavior Specialist
The Lead Behavior Specialist will support staff by working closely with youth who require additional resources and guidance to thrive in the program. They will provide coaching to staff, helping them develop effective strategies for managing challenging behaviors, and will intervene as needed to offer direct support.

Position Overview of Day to Day Work:
While at site, they will be responsible for running program and supervising site staff. Tasks outside of site include, in-person/virtual meetings, shopping for site supplies, project management, administrative work and other tasks as assigned.
After School Program: A Senior Site Director will work on site at their school 4 hours a day depending on the needs of the site & 4 hours in office or teleworking.
Qualifications
Minimum: 1 year experience in program planning and working with youth (preferably school-age children) in a group and semi-structured setting

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
Program: The Rural Alaska Program travels to Alaska Native communities throughout the state to deliver summer day camp programs to youth, teens, families, and elders. Camp Fire sends staff, supplies, food and fun to different communities creating a fun summer camp experience while teaching about healthy life choices, reducing high risk behaviors, encourage youth and community engagement.
Location: Various Rural communities within Alaska.
Schedule: 40 hours per week minimum + Overtime on travel weekends
Activities: Travel Camp Lead Staff develop and run summer day camp programs such as team building, sports and games, Native Youth Olympics. cold water safety and swimming, outdoor recreation, shelter building, and community events. Some evenings are reserved for teen-based programs. We facilitate a community event once per week.

Position Description:
The Camp Fireweed Archery Specialist adheres to Camp Fire Alaska's (CFAK) promise to provide youth with the opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are through positive and responsible youth/adult interactions within the day camp environment. An Archery Specialist will be responsible for providing instruction, guidance, and supervision to staff and campers during Archery lessons and camp activities.
In this position you'll gain valuable experience providing a high-quality camp experience for participants and parents within the CFA mission and goals. You'll have an opportunity to lead and participate in all camp activities along with planning and implementing age appropriate activities consistent with campers' needs/abilities that promote, encourage, and demonstrate caring, striving and thriving. Pay: Starting at $21.08/hour, with higher rates available based on experience.

A day in the life:
The Director of After School Programs begins each day reviewing enrollment, staffing, and key updates to anticipate needs and support teams across the various program locations. Much of the day is spent leading and mentoring program managers, collaborating with internal partners on budgeting, operations, and enrollment strategy, and using data to guide continuous improvement. Afternoons often include connecting with schools, community partners, and visiting program sites to ensure quality, safety, and consistency. Throughout the day, the Director balances strategic planning with hands-on problem-solving by addressing challenges, supporting staff, and keeping youth experience at the center of every decision so that Camp Fire Alaskas after-school programs remain safe, engaging, and mission-driven.
No two days are ever exactly the same, but each day is grounded instrategic leadership, relationship-building, and a deep commitment to creating high-quality experiences where youth can discover the best in themselves and others.
To be successful in this role, the Director of After School Programs must combine strong leadership with strategic thinking and a deep commitment to youth development. Key skills include the ability to lead and coach diverse teams, communicate clearly across multiple levels of an organization, and build productive relationships with schools, families, and community partners. Strong organizational and time-management skills are essential for balancing competing priorities across multiple sites, while data literacy and financial awareness support informed decision-making and sustainable program growth. Just as important are sound judgment, emotional intelligence, and crisis-management abilities, which allow the Director to navigate challenges calmly and ensure that every decision reflects safety, equity, and the organizations mission.
Qualifications:
Minimum:5years' experienceworking in programplanning, implementation and working with youth (preferably school-age children) in a group and semi-structured setting
Prior experience in the development and delivery of programs for youth
Successful experience as an administrator within a licensed or accredited program including experience going through a review from a regulatory entity, understanding of standards and regulations, and leading a continuous improvement process required
Minimum: 5 years' experiencesupervision in a youth development and/or nonprofit agencyrequired

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Kitchen Assistant plays an important role in supporting the Kitchen Manager and ensuring that Camp Ks youth-focused Food Service Program delivers nutritious, delicious meals in a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. This position contributes directly to a high-quality camp experience for campers, families, and visitors alike.
As a Kitchen Assistant, youll help prepare meals in accordance with Camp K guidelines, assist with kitchen inventory and food storage, maintain sanitation and safety standards, and help care for kitchen equipment and facilities. Youll work collaboratively with the kitchen and camp staff to ensure smooth operations and an enjoyable dining experience for everyone.
Successful candidates demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills, respect for diversity, and a positive attitude when engaging with youth and peers. Youll also serve as a role model, promoting inclusivity, responsibility, and the spirit of community that makes Camp K special.

The Waterfront Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, growth, and enjoyment of campers through both cabin leadership and the Camp K Aquatics Program. In this role, you'll provide 24-hour supervision and guidance to a cabin group of campers, working closely with fellow counselors and support staff to deliver a variety of engaging camp activities.
In addition to cabin responsibilities, you'll lead and oversee all lakeside and aquatic programs on Kenai Lake, including canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and water safety and survival skills. You'll also perform lifeguarding duties and supervise camp lifeguards during aquatic activities to maintain the highest standards of safety and instruction at the waterfront.
This is a live-on-site summer position, offering the opportunity to be fully immersed in the camp community while working in the stunning setting of Chugach National Forest.

FLSA: Full-Time, Exempt
Salary: $75,190 - $87,550 /annually DOE
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 hours/day shifts, between the hours of 9am - 6pm. There may be occasional work hours in the evening or weekend to meet agency needs or to attend events.

A day in the life:
The Director of After School Programs begins each day reviewing enrollment, staffing, and key updates to anticipate needs and support teams across the various program locations. Much of the day is spent leading and mentoring program managers, collaborating with internal partners on budgeting, operations, and enrollment strategy, and using data to guide continuous improvement. Afternoons often include connecting with schools, community partners, and visiting program sites to ensure quality, safety, and consistency. Throughout the day, the Director balances strategic planning with hands-on problem-solving by addressing challenges, supporting staff, and keeping youth experience at the center of every decision so that Camp Fire Alaska's after-school programs remain safe, engaging, and mission-driven.

To be successful in this role, the Director of After School Programs must combine strong leadership with strategic thinking and a deep commitment to youth development. Strong organizational and time-management skills are essential for balancing competing priorities across multiple sites, while data literacy and financial awareness support informed decision-making and sustainable program growth. Qualifications:
Minimum: 5 years' experience working in program planning, implementation and working with youth (preferably school-age children) in a group and semi-structured setting
Prior experience in the development and delivery of programs for youth
Successful experience as an administrator within a licensed or accredited program including experience going through a review from a regulatory entity, understanding of standards and regulations, and leading a continuous improvement process required
Minimum: 5 years' experience supervision in a youth development and/or nonprofit agency required
Minimum of twelve college credits (with at least 3 credit hours specific to early childhood education) in education, youth development or related filed OR Child Youth Care Credential (CYC) (can be acquired in first 18 months of hire)
Experience with training facilitation and on-boarding of new staff
Ability to transport all program materials and supplies to site required; ability to visit all sites on demand
Twenty-five (25) years of age required
Requirements: that can be acquired after hire within agreed upon time schedule

Unit Leader
The unit leader is responsible for the overall management and supervision of assigned units (camper/staff groups), overseeing all aspects of youth and staff supervision and safety.
Lead Behavior Specialist
The Lead Behavior Specialist will support staff by working closely with youth who require additional resources and guidance to thrive in the program. They will provide coaching to staff, helping them develop effective strategies for managing challenging behaviors, and will intervene as needed to offer direct support
Lead Field Trip Specialist
