We, the class of 1955, publishers of this edition of the Camel, wish to dedicate our annual to the under-graduates of Campbell County High School.
Dear Friends, The members of the Campbell County High School Annual staff have put in many long hard hours to bring the 1968 Camel to you.
Campbell County High School opened in the fall of 1975, combining the former Jacksboro and LaFollette High Schools into a comprehensive high school built to serve a larger geographic area and a more diverse segment of the county’s youth in grades 10-12.
The 1982 Camel was titled "Entertainment" and featured skating rinks and Pac-Man at Mini-Marts.
Three teachers were accepted into the Governor's Academy for Teachers in 1987 and two were Selected as Stokey Fellows.
In 1988, a member of the CCHS faculty was selected as Tennessee High School Teacher of the Year.
A grant through the Tennessee Department of Education in 1996 enabled the school to incorporate a Ford Academy of Manufacturing Sciences within the school curriculum.
On December 9, 1998, principal John Riley resigned.
On December 5, 1998, Cheryl Trover, a math teacher at Campbell County High School, kidnapped and tied up her children, shot her husband John Trover with a .22-caliber pistol, and stabbed him to death with a hunting knife.
