Job Description:
The ED Tech works under the supervision of the Staff RN. They perform a variety of basic patient care activities in caring for patients in the Emergency Department.
* Responds to the demands of changing patient acuity in a positive, efficient manner

* Practices quality service as evidenced through QI results and patient satisfaction.

* Assists with patient care by performing the following duties: Lab Draws, EKGs, Monitor Lead Placement, Catheterizations, Simple Sterile Dressings, Set-Up of Suture Trays, Patient Transport (including Telemetry patients within 6 months), Set up for and assist with pelvic exams as directed by an RN.
* Assist with VS and other duties in Triage as directed by an RN.
* Document patient care using a computerized Clinical Documentation System.
Job Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
* Annual CPR certification.
* Attends non-violent crisis intervention within 1 year of employment
* One year of nursing assistant experience preferred
Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

PROGRAM DETAILS:
The Western States CAT Technician Academy program includes 7 months of instructor-led classes and labs at the Western States Equipment campus in Meridian, ID and Spokane, WA. Students will learn about engine fundamentals, powertrains, machine hydraulics, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions and torque converters, undercarriages, final drives and more. Once the classroom requirements are complete, students will have a 2-month paid internship in a designated branch within the Western States territory.
During the paid 2-month internship at WSECO, students will work under the guidance of experienced technicians and mentors and will apply their education in one of our state-of-the-art facilities. Upon successful completion of the Tech Academy, student interns will have the opportunity to join the WSECO team as full-time technicians.
