ASSISTS IN THE PERFORMANCE OF MEDICAL TASKS by helping providers with patients; giving selected medical instructions to patients and/or members of the family on general health care under the instruction of licensed medical providers; scheduling and tracking ordered diagnostic (labs and imaging) studies and consult appointments to include follow up on results not received timely.
ASSISTS IN THE ORGANIZATION OF THE ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD by preparing and updating patient histories and medication lists; assuring proper documentation and placement of records, results and notes.
ADHERES TO INFECTION CONTROL STANDARDS AND PRACTICES by implementing aseptic and sterile techniques when required, using personal protective equipment as required; demonstrating proper instrument cleaning, sterilization and storage.
ASSISTS PATIENTS AND FAMILIES by assessing communication barriers, providing translation services as assigned and assisting with completion of clinic paperwork; communicating in a professional manner with patents/families, maintaining confidentiality and treating patients/ family members with respect.
ASSISTS CLINIC'S LEAD MEDICAL ASSISTANT AND CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER by assuring adequate medical supplies and equipment; maintaining sufficient exam room supplies daily and by notifying appropriate staff timely when medical supplies are needed.
MAINTAINS AND UPDATES SKILLS by continuing education by attending seminars related to job responsibilities; attending required in-house trainings.
CONTRIBUTES TO THE TEAM EFFORT by performing related tasks as needed; participating regularly in team meetings, daily huddles and monthly QA/PI meetings; demonstrating positive working relationships and communications with team members; performing additional duties as assigned such as making contact on a periodic basis with patients who are flagged for reminder/recall, assuring they receive timely follow up depending upon their diagnoses, age and the services for which they are due and facilitating post-hospital discharge follow-up.

JOB GOAL: To assist the teacher(s) in achieving teaching objectives and managing the classroom.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATIONAL
* Works with individual, small, and large groups of students to reinforce learning and enhance skills,
* Checks notebooks, corrects papers, and assists with the administration of assignments and make-up work as assigned by the teacher.
* Reads to students, listens to students read, and participates in other positive forms of oral communication with students.
* Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods and field trips.
* Alerts the teacher to any concerns specific to student(s).
* Assists students in the library or media center.
* Helps students with their clothing.
* Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
GENERAL
* Serves as the chief source of information and assistance to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the teacher.
* Operates instructional equipment used in the classroom.
* Helps the teacher create bulletin boards and other classroom learning displays.
* Collects and records the collection of money as assigned by the teacher.
* Assist with snack, lunch and bathroom procedures.
* Participates in in-service training programs, as assigned.
* Performs any duties assigned and deemed necessary by the teacher or principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
