The physician will provide health care for individuals in the Clinic commensurate with training and in accordance with the general policies and standards of practice, as established by the clinic. Delivers care appropriate for center with a multicultural patient population. Elicits detailed patient histories and conducts complete physician examinations. Reaches diagnosis and orders appropriate laboratory tests and referrals, etc., as well as counsels patient and family on health and disease.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Physician reports directly to our Medical Director and are primarily responsible for the provision of high-quality medical care to our patients.
Provide all physician care generally provided at a family practice or managed care facility.
Monday through Friday 8-5. No weekends or evening hours
100% Outpatient. NO CALL
Patient population: Medicare Advantage
Responsible for the delivery of care, treatment, and referrals.

Position Summary:
As part of an integrated model of healthcare, the psychiatrist diagnoses, prescribes medication, monitors medication side effects and participates in the treatment proves in the field of mental health. The psychiatrist functions in accordance with plans and policies established and performs duties within the medical setting as a member of the care team.
Essential Functions:
• Provides direct diagnostic assessment and evaluation of patients with emotional, mental, or behavioral disorders; coordinates care with the primary care physician; participates in treatment plan reviews
• Maintains timely and accurate electronic medical record documentation on all patients including office visits, telephone calls, and hospital admissions/visits, if applicable
• Makes appropriate referrals to other facilities for further testing, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care; orders and review appropriate lab tests and other medical procedures
• Provides appropriate and adequate treatment to patients, with the ideal endpoint being remission of psychiatric symptoms; provides adequate appropriate and education to patients
• Participates in Peer Review and Quality Improvement initiatives

• Periodic supervision and teaching of residents, medical students and other allied health professionals
Education, Certification Training and License:

Borinquen Medical Center in Miami, Florida is seeking a compassionate and well-equipped Geriatric Physician for a full-time clinical position with the opportunity to be on faculty for the family medicine residency program.
The applicant must be passionate about serving patients in the setting of an urban FQHC. The center offers multi-specialty care with an emphasis on continuity of care and preventative health care for all ages.
The residency is an outpatient focused program with 12 residents (4-4-4) with a mission of training residents to serve their community and address social determinants of health. The physician will play an active role in the development of the residency and its residents. The physician will have the opportunity to train residents in women's health and outpatient pediatrics as well.
