This position is responsible for building a competitive, educationally supportive program that aligns with the University of Sioux Falls' mission and values. The coach provides leadership, organization, and supervision across all aspects of a growing, competitive Esports program. Major Responsibilities Coach and mentor students in one or more esports titles (e.g., League of Legends, Rocket League, Valorant, Overwatch), focusing on skill development, teamwork, and strategy. Plan and lead practices, training, and competitions; oversee travel and scheduling. Manage equipment needs in coordination with IT; support livestreaming and content creation. Organize team participation in local, regional, and national competitions. Organize and host on-campus or virtual tournaments to engage students. Partner with Marketing and Admissions to promote the program and attract current and prospective students. Work cooperatively with university departments as needed for a successful esports program (IT, HR, etc.). Monitor team members' academic progress and eligibility; connect students with support services as needed. Maintain records of player participation, competition outcomes, and program metrics. Enforce team rules, safety standards, and university/league policies. Stay current on esports trends, strategies, and league updates. Assist with esports-related scholarship processes (if applicable). Comply with all USF policies and regulations, and also with outside agencies' policies and regulations, including but not limited to Title IX, NCAA, NSIC, Department of Education, Clery Act, FERPA, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor, and the Department of Justice. Familiarity with esports platforms (Discord, Twitch, Battlefy). Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
