Peter Schottland
American Packaging

After graduating from Ithaca College in 1980 with a Bachelor in Business Administration degree, Peter Schottland was employed by Kidder Peabody from 1980-1986 and joined American Packaging Corporation in 1986 as an Account Manager. He has held various positions within APC since then, including Operations Manager, VP of Sales, CEO/President and currently CEO/Co-Chairman. Peter has been in the Flexible Packaging Industry for over 34 years and in the various roles he has held at APC, has always believed in the philosophy that you hire the best people and invest in the best technology. APC is committed to leading the flexible packaging industry by providing innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective packaging to our customers. Over the years, he has served on the Board of Directors for the Flexible Packaging Association, the College of Charleston School of Business, and The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. His involvement with the College of Charleston also includes the Schottland Scholars Program, which is designed to award scholarships to 12 bright business students annually as well as a leadership award to top performers. HITW is an amazing organization that serves children with life threatening illnesses, enabling them to experience summer camp free of charge. This is made possible through fund raising events like the Big Apple Bash. APC has been a major sponsor of this event for 10 years and during this time, has raised over $10 million for Camp. Peter and his family have also served as camp counselor volunteers. In 2019, Peter and his wife made a donation to the Greater Rochester YMCA to build their newest branch in Pittsford, NY. The branch construction was completed in 2109 and has been named the Schottland Family YMCA. Also in 2019 Peter was inducted into the Rochester Business Hall of Fame, an incredible honor for him as the Rochester community has always meant so much to Peter and his family.
