PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations; recommends course of action and ensures consistency and fairness in all resolutions;
Provides timely, effective and direct coaching to managers and employees, assisting in the development of strong, contemporary leadership skills;
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Consults with internal senior legal counsel as needed and required;
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions);
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase engagement, productivity, and retention;
Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning;
Identifies training needs for business units and individual coaching needs;
Participates in evaluation, monitoring, and delivery of training programs to ensure success;
Analyzes a variety of data, composes appropriate reports for management and advises in the development and implementation of action plans required based on data analysis;
Provides ongoing assessment and coaching to managers and employees, and recommends development plans where needed;
Ensures the availability and acquisition of appropriate talent in the right numbers, with the right skill mix, at the right time and place to meet ongoing organizational needs;
Serves as the liaison between HR and other administrative departments within the organization;

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

The Manager of the Clinical Resource Department is responsible for the day to day operations and clinical management of the Case Management, Utilization Review and Social Work, with a secondary focus on the Clinical Documentation team. This position will oversee functions of the Clinical Resource Department as they pertain to discharge planning, utilization management, and care coordination/high risk patient process while maintaining the integrity of daily operations. This position is responsible for developing and conducting ongoing education and process improvement for Case Management/Social Work staff.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Day to day management of the case management and social services program staff and workflows, including scheduling and performance evaluations. Assists the Manager of Operations with the Clinical Documentation team where necessary
Rounds on patient units on a regular basis to identify problem areas and assist in the facilitation of the discharge process
Ongoing development and completion of continuing education programs for Clinical Resources Management staff, including case managers and social workers specifically related to role functions and implementation of new processes.
Provides ongoing program education for new staff, including new Case Managers, the Trainee program hires, social workers, physicians, nurses and allied health professionals as it relates to discharge planning and utilization review.
Tracks and trends Clinical Resource Management program compliance. Creates a dashboard to see where opportunities for improvement are and implements process improvement activities around areas identified.

Analysis and review of program metrics using working knowledge of the systems used in the departments.

Job Summary
We are looking for a high-energy, driven, customer-service focused Senior Grant Administrator/Consultant to join the BWH Department of Medicine team. The Department of Medicine (DOM) is the largest recipient of sponsored funding of any Harvard Medical School department and continues to break new ground in biomedical research. The department's research community consists of more than 400 research faculty and more than 400 research fellows. Currently, the Department averages $450MM per year in total research expenditures and approximately 1,800 sponsored research proposals per year.
Reporting to and working closely with the Research Administrative Manager, the Senior Grant Administrator/Consultant will provide expert research administration support to the 21 divisions within the Department of Medicine (DOM). As a consultant, he/she will play a key role in the coordination of research activities including special projects, oversight of complex programs or filling short-term vacancies. The Senior Grant Administrator/Consultant will provide exceptional customer service to the division's investigators and collaborators. The individual may be the primary point of contact for Principal Investigators and Department Administrators or may work alongside other grant administrator/consultants.
The consulting position is assignment-based and the individual may be engaged in multiple projects in multiple divisions simultaneously. When not engaged in research management activities within the divisions, the Grant Administrator will provide support for DOM central administration activities as detailed below.
Qualifications
Consultation with DOM Divisions:
1. Oversee all budgetary and administrative aspects of the grant application progress, including development of study budgets for sponsored research and associated funds in accordance with sponsor fiscal policies and procedures as well as revisions of post-award budgets as needed
2. Serve as primary contact for collaborating sites regarding development of budgets and work with Partners Research Management to ensure that subcontract awards are processed in a timely manner
3. Monitor project expenditures, including monthly assessments of fund activity thereby preventing overruns; make recommendations of actions as necessary; prepare and maintain financial reports on an ongoing basis
4. Serves as liaison to Accounts Payable, Payroll, Purchasing and other Hospital departments. Works with outside vendors to obtain products and services necessary to the operation of the Division. Interacts extensively with Research Administration to ensure compliance with all Hospital, government (NIH) and funding agency policies.
5. Perform financial analysis and forecasting, both short-term and long-term
6. Advise regarding the allowability of costs to be charged to a grant; work with Research Finance to resolve complex accounting issues
7. Guide fellows and younger investigators through the grant application and renewal processes
8. Understand and conform with the administrative, budgetary, and financial compliance regulations of all sponsors as well as with Partners fiscal policy; stay current and up-to-date on all policy changes
9. Collaborate with Principal Investigators and Project Managers on annual NIH/foundation progress reports
10. Provide timely closeout of all expired projects through the coordination of fiscal and administrative resources throughout the system
11. Review and distribute effort reports

Education

Qualifications
* 7+ years of hands-on experience in IT Change and Release Management at the enterprise level.
* Proven track record of successfully managing complex releases and change initiatives across diverse IT environments.
* Strong understanding of ITIL framework; ITIL certification preferred.
* Experience working with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
* Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills

We are currently in need of Patient Observers to work at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital for the day, evening, and night shifts on both the in-patient units and the emergency department. The Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery at Mass General Brigham (MGB) provides expert, compassionate care to trauma and emergency surgery patients. With a multidisciplinary team of outstanding physicians and surgeons, nurses, and support staff, the division is dedicated to ensuring patients receive the best treatments-24 hours a day, seven days a week-at every step along their journey from injury to recovery.
Established in 2005 as a joint initiative of Harvard Medical School (HMS) and the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH), CSPH's mission is to advance the science of surgical care delivery by studying effectiveness, equity, and value at the health system and population levels, to inform policy, and to provide support for faculty and trainees committed to excellence in surgical health services research (HSR). CSPH's expertise in HSR also informs its work in addressing the burden of surgical disease in lower and middle income countries and resource-poor settings.
Supporting a team of health services/outcomes and clinical researchers, the Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery seeks a Research Project Manager to provide high-quality project management for key research projects including the Division's health services research program within the Center for Surgery and Public Health. Research priority areas will include but not be limited to Healthcare Disparities; Patient Oriented Policy and Practice (PPOPP); Comparative Effectiveness; Appropriateness of Care; Quantitative and Qualitative Research in HSR; Global Surgery/Implementation Science; and Education and Training, among other initiatives.
Qualifications
The candidate will effectively collaborate with Trauma/Acute Care Surgery faculty, fellows and study teams to facilitate project goals and coordinate all phases of the research process. They will assist in the creation of appropriate infrastructure necessary to support the Division's growing research program.
The role will provide overall strategic, day-to-day management to ensure critical deliverables adhere to project timelines. Key responsibilities include: organization of study start-up (writing, literature searches, electronic data collection tools, broad study organization), oversight of the development of study protocols and data management, coordination of all meetings and preparation of documents and reports to the Institutional Review Board; progress reports; dissemination of findings including manuscript and presentation development.
The Project Manager will support grantmanship activities including developing grant proposals and coordinating various elements involved in proposal submissions to third-party entities. This position will identify, define, and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program activities.
This position will lead data collection and management efforts and, working with CSPH's biostatistical team. The position may be asked to provide some programming support using SAS and/or STATA.

Job Summary
GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Under indirect supervision of the Chief Technologist, the incumbent performs standard electroencephalographic (EEG) examinations (includes routine awake and sleep EEGs, portable EEGs and long term monitoring bedside EEGs) on both outpatients and inpatients. Responsibilities include test set up, electrode application, conduction of tests and the collection of information pertinent to the interpretation of the tests. May perform clerical/administrative duties as required.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greets patients and explains the examination procedures to the patient and/or family. May perform the tests in the laboratory, at the patient bedside, in an intensive care unit or in the emergency room.
Selects predetermined standard and special electrode combinations (montages) made necessary by the case under study. May need to add additional electrodes as clinically indicated.
Measures patient's head using the international 10-20 system prior to placement of monitoring equipment. Operates the EEG equipment to record EEG procedures.
Monitors recording as it is in progress, makes pertinent notations of the clinical state of the patient and defines abnormal from normal activity based on the patient's history and clinical condition.
Obtains standard recordings, recognizes artifacts and takes appropriate steps to eliminate them. Uses activating procedures such as hyperventilation, photic stimulation and sleep.
Abstracts relevant information from the patient's clinical record and obtains additional information from a patient interview. Writes a technical report with an impression of the data to aid in the physician's interpretation.
Accurately enters patient data into a reporting system computer terminal and retrieves and reviews previous tests/recordings as needed for comparison. Stores data appropriately.
Maintains, troubleshoots, cleans and performs minor repairs on the EEG equipment; reports need for major repairs to supervisor.
Helps maintain the laboratory inventory. Keeps laboratory in a neat and orderly fashion.
Attends departmental staff and in-service meetings as required.
Follows all established departmental policies and procedures. Maintains patient safety and patient confidentiality at all times.
Must be available to work on-call, off shift and weekends.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an EEG training program or Associates Degree program.
Six months or more experience working in a patient care environment.
Eligible for ABRET certification to be completed within 2 years from date of hire.
SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Ability to perform routine/sleep EEGs and long term monitoring continuous bedside EEGs on patients of all ages.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ambulatory inpatients and outpatients are performed in the EEG laboratory. Bedside tests are performed on non-ambulatory and ICU patients on the floors.

Job Summary
The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Mass Eye and Ear (MEE) Ambulatory Infection Control & High-Level Disinfection/Sterilization (HLDS) Manager is a key leader within these academic medical centers, advancing a culture of safety through evidence-based infection prevention practices, high-reliability process oversight, and expert-level management of HLDS standards. This individual serves as a strategic partner across clinical and operational teams-bridging performance improvement with regulatory excellence, surveillance science, and frontline education. In addition to primary and specialty outpatient clinics, the ambulatory areas of these facilities include large community health centers, ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs), and multiple Mass General Brigham (MGB) Cancer Institute locations, with the clinical profile of these areas including an ever-growing array of numerous, complex procedures.
Reporting to the MGH-MEE Senior Manager of Infection Control , the manager oversees site-specific infection prevention programs, ensures rigorous compliance with HLDS requirements, and helps shape institutional policy, training, and safety initiatives to safeguard patients, staff, and the academic mission.
Essential Functions
Infection Prevention & Program Leadership
* Leads and coordinates the MGH and MEE Ambulatory Infection Control program, ensuring alignment with academic medical center standards, research demands, and teaching priorities.
* Develops, implements, and evaluates the program, with special emphasis on HLDS and device reprocessing.
* Conducts needs and risk assessments and to support infection control at MGH and MEE ambulatory sites, including ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs).
* Implements systemwide infection prevention and HLDS goals at the site level, ensuring adherence to clinical, administrative, and regulatory requirements.
HLDS Oversight
* Oversees and evaluates compliance with HLDS policies, procedures, competencies, and quality monitoring across departments.
* Partners with the Central Sterile Processing and Supply (CSPS) department, procedural areas, and clinical leadership to ensure safe, consistent device reprocessing practices.
* Supports readiness for inspections, accreditation surveys, and regulatory reviews related to infection prevention and HLDS.
* Leads performance improvement initiatives aimed at reducing reprocessing failures and improving workflow, traceability, and safety culture.
Surveillance, Reporting & Outbreak Response
* Ensures comprehensive surveillance, remediation, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections, including outbreak detection and response.

* Serves as liaison between the site and regulatory/public health agencies, representing the organization on external committees when needed.
Education, Training & Stakeholder Collaboration

Qualifications
Education

* HLD/S-related training or certification highly desirable (e.g., CBSPD, IAHCSMM/ISHM, reprocessing competencies)
Experience
* Three to Five years of experience applying infection prevention and epidemiology programs
* One to Two years of Supervisory/Leadership experience in a healthcare system or hospital required
* Experience in an academic medical center with expertise in ambulatory infection control and HLDS strongly preferred.
* Proficiency with regulatory agencies and requirements (CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA), NHSN surveillance, and quality metrics (Vizient, Leapfrog, CMS).
