South College Asheville Learning Site, located in Asheville, NC, is conducting a search for the position of adjunct clinical instructor for the BSN Hybrid Track. This role involves teaching in clinical sites in Morganton, NC and the surrounding area.
Clinical shifts will be 8, 10, or 12 hours depending on course needs.
Responsibilities
Supervise students in lab or clinical experiences ensuring that course learning objectives are met
Collaborate with course coordinator on lab or clinical learning activities
Ensure that all academic program requirements and forms of documentation are completed as required for each student and submitted per established deadlines.
Submit accurate attendance/academic participation rosters as prescribed by the institution.
Adhere to South College Faculty Expectations for course participation, grading, and communication with students
Maintain compliance with accreditation requirements, including continuing education

The ITA Department provides forensic behavioral health evaluation and services to patients at the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning and at the UW Medical Center - Northwest and Montlake campuses who are going through the involuntary treatment act (ITA)/civil commitment process for involuntary behavioral health treatment. This includes patients admitted to the Emergency Department (ED) and medical units on the UW Medical Center - Northwest and Montlake campuses.
ABOUT THE CENTER FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND LEARNING
The new Center for Behavioral Health and Learning at UW Medical Center - Northwest campus opened in 2024. It offers an unparalleled opportunity to transform mental health care and to improve mental health care training in our state. Located in North Seattle, the new facility features 75 long-term civil commitment adult psychiatry beds, 25 geriatric psychiatry beds, 50 medical/surgical beds focused on patients with psychiatric comorbidities, and a state-of-the-art neuromodulation program. It also houses an interdisciplinary training and workforce development program focused on preparing and supporting the next generation of behavioral health providers for Washington State. The six-story building is a beautiful place to work with lots of windows, natural lighting and open-concept spaces and offers amenities including a new kitchen and dining area for patients, staff and visitors.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Evaluate patients who are detained for involuntary behavioral health treatment at UW Medical Center and are scheduled for King County ITA Court
* Complete clinical and legal petitions/documentation in the required timelines
* Represent UW Medical Center at King County ITA Court, including testifying as an expert witness in ITA court hearings and also serving as proxy witness
* Act as a resource for questions regarding the ITA process and involuntary behavioral health treatment
* Coordinate with the assigned prosecuting attorney and other involved court parties to support the patient's treatment plan and to support successful testimony in ITA court
* Attend treatment team, utilization review, quality improvement and other meetings as requested/required. Attend scheduled ITA stakeholder meetings
* When video court and/or telehealth is not available or appropriate, travel between the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning and UW Medical Center - Montlake
REQUIREMENTS
* Advanced Degree as required by specialty
* Licensed as a psychologist, advanced registered nurse practitioner, mental health counselor or independent clinical social worker in the State of Washington
* 2-5 years of recent experience working with acutely ill psychiatric patients specifically involving evaluation of psychiatric safety, level of function, psychiatric diagnoses, and medications
* Two years of recent experience working in a hospital setting is preferred
* Expertise with the Washington Involuntary Treatment Act (RCW 71.05)
* Compliance with your professional Code of Ethics is required
* Maintains a valid Washington Driver's License and a clean driving record
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements

Provide strategic leadership for the development, implementation, and evaluation of all Club Sports programs.
Recruit students into Club Sports through partnerships with Admissions, coaches, high school programs, and community sport organizations.
Oversee student-led club teams, including leadership selection, onboarding, compliance training, and organizational support.
Identify and support club sport advisors.
Supervise scheduling, facility reservations, travel planning, event operations, and risk management protocols for all Club Sports.
Support student leaders in developing club constitutions, practice plans, budgets, fundraising efforts, and membership recruitment.
Maintain accurate rosters, eligibility documentation, injury reports, and program assessments.
Collaborate with campus partners to ensure facilities, equipment, and safety standards are met.
Promote Club Sports on campus and across social media, helping to amplify school spirit and student participation.
Build and maintain positive relationships with local sport organizations, recreation centers, and potential competitive leagues.
Develop annual goals and metrics for evaluating club sport growth, contribution to recruitment, and overall student engagement.
Manage Club Sports budgets, including purchasing, travel, equipment, and uniforms.
Coordinate end-of-year recognition, awards, or showcase events for Club Sport participants.
Community Engagement Partnerships
Build and maintain strong partnerships with organizations across Wilson-especially in theatre, choir, nonprofit service, leadership development, and youth engagement.
Create pathways for Barton students to engage meaningfully with off-campus programs that enhance their personal and professional development.
Seek opportunities for both Pathways and Club Sports students to connect with community leaders, serve locally, and build professional networks.
Represent Barton College in community meetings and collaborative initiatives.
Other Duties
Participate in Admissions and Student Engagement events, including evenings and weekends as required.
Assist with campus-wide recruitment events where Pathways or Club Sports can enhance the visitor experience.

NATURE OF WORK
An employee in this position administers direct and indirect intervention for students to assist a speech-language pathologist in the provision of clinical-educational services for students with speech-language disorders. The work is guided by therapeutic protocols, a task by task plan written by the supervising speech-language pathologist. The assistant is expected to use individually designed interventions based upon the unique clinical-educational needs of each student. The assistant's work with students is under direct supervision by the speech-language pathologist; however, the assistant is expected to recognize when changes in a student's needs require assistance from the supervising speech-language pathologist. Errors in service could cause serious harm to students and potential liability for the supervising speech-language pathologist, the school system, and the assistant. The assistant works under the supervision of a speech-language pathologist licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists. The assistant requires limited supervision in indirect services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Transports students to/from testing or therapy area.
