Summary
Perform a variety of complex, specialized, and technical tasks associated with the operation of high field strength mag nets.
Work Performed
Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance
Assist radiologist with procedure protocol in gand performance
Start IV.s, administer contrast media as directed and per protocol
Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of acquisition and label appropriately
Schedule patients for procedures; assist with clerical functions
Charge MR procedures and supplies in and operate power injectors for contrast media administration
Maintain accurate patient records
Provide orientation for new technologists
Provide education and training for student technologists
Provide for the psychological and physical needs of patients for MR procedures
Understand and use the Image Archival System
Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce special radiographic images of specific body parts
Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment as required
Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance
Assist radiologist with procedure performance
Administer contrast media or as directed and per protocol
Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately
Coordinate scheduling and patient flow involving multiple MR sites
Assist with education and training of new physicians (interns, residents, fellows, and attending's) if applicable
Assist radiologists and physicists in developing new protocols and MR imaging techniques that are unique to DUHS
Help facilitate research for the Duke Health System by scanning and using protocols given
Demonstrate proficiency in the 100+ MR protocol sin the Health System. Teach the correct application of these protocols to new technologists, physicians, and researcher
Perform other related duties incidental to the work herein

Daily Laboratory Audit Readiness and Housekeeping
Maintain cleanliness and organization of lab spaces, including proper storage of glassware and supplies to meet audit standards.
Laboratory Reagent Management
Identify, label, and dispose of reagents according to shelf-life policies and laboratory protocols.
Hazardous Waste Collection and Disposal
Collect, label, and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with OSHA and HSE regulations. Training will be provided.
Laboratory Instrument Standardization
Calibrate and standardize basic instruments such as pH meters and balances to ensure accuracy in laboratory testing.
Documentation and Peer Shadowing

Instrument Classification and Labeling

Audit Inspection Walkthroughs
Participate in laboratory inspections to ensure procedural adherence, cleanliness, and readiness for internal or external audits.
Operations Collaboration
Work with lab management and other operational staff to support continuous improvement and workflow optimization.
Qualifications:Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Enrollment in an associate or bachelor's degree program in a science-related field preferred.
Education equivalency with a minimum of 2+ years relevant laboratory experience accepted.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, write, and comprehend regulated technical documentation.
Reasoning Ability:
Capable of analyzing patterns, identifying problems, brainstorming solutions, and recognizing procedural or safety concerns.
Mathematical Ability:

What You Will Do As A Repair Technician

Major Responsibilities:
Analyzes, troubleshoots and repairs highly complex diagnostic and therapeutic imaging equipment and systems utilizing established electronic test and measurement equipment and techniques. Service support will be provided to multiple Advocate Healthcare facilities and may span one or more patient service areas.
Installs, calibrates and tests highly complex new imaging equipment and/or systems. Responsibilities may include work on a mix of Biomedical and Diagnostic Imaging equipment, but majority of work will be related to complex Diagnostic Imaging equipment.
Performs any required advanced service on imaging equipment and systems, in accordance with corporate and department procedures, manufacturers recommendations, physicists' specifications and/or other applicable codes, standards, accreditation requirements, and state and federal regulations as applicable regarding radiographic and diagnostic imaging equipment.
Interacts with clinical staff across multiple assigned sites and/or PSAs on a regular basis to ensure needs are being met. Installs or assists in the installation of new imaging equipment, tubes, transformers, etc. Assists in the training of imaging staff on the safe and proper use of equipment. Participates in new equipment evaluation and RFP/RFI development across one or more sites or PSAs. Documents and maintains accurate records of all inspections, repairs, adjustments, etc. performed on all equipment performed by self or a vendor.
Assists in training Biomedical Equipment Tech's to provide first call on imaging equipment and may train Imaging technicians on inspection and repairs for imaging equipment.
Coordinates special projects by defining scope of work, identifying resources both technical and financial and provides technical direction to staff and communicates project status for one or more assigned sites and across one or more PSA's.
As applicable, coordinates and communicates with a radiation physicist as part of equipment quality assurance testing, calibration, and disposal for site licensing needs with the State department of public health. May assist imaging staff in the selection process for new equipment purchases and installations, may assist with service contract negotiations. This may include site visits and/or meetings with equipment manufacturers.
Makes recommendations for capital equipment replacements to Clinical Engineering Leadership at the site and system level. Escalates situations or questions beyond their scope of knowledge or responsibility to appropriate staff. Communicates routinely with supervisory personnel on the status of equipment repair and maintenance activities along with immediately reporting all patient/equipment operator safety issues.

Job Description Summary:
Provides high quality, compassionate clinical care to patients
Facilitate quality patient care and assist professional and/or nursing staff in performing Endoscopy procedures.
Works to increase the departments ability to effectively maintain the daily schedule along with safe and appropriate patient services.
Must possess appropriate personality characteristics to serve patients and families in a positive, professional, helpful manner.
Responsible for cleaning and routine care and maintenance of scopes and equipment used in the Endoscopy Unit.
This position requires the ability and means to travel to various locations including, but not limited to other sites.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Language - Must be able to read and write English at high school level. Must communicate effectively. Must be able to read numbers and do basic math calculations.
CMA, CNA or Endoscopy Tech
Current BLS (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
Transportation. Must have transportation and ability to travel to all DHS locations as assigned.
