1954: Ford Thunderbird, arguably the first “classic car” was released with an emphasis on comfort, convenience, sportiness, and distinctive design.
The Ford Foundation, which was a large stockholder, and the Ford family were the only owners of the company until January 1956.
The first Public Offering (IPO) of the stocks of the Ford Motor Company was made in January 1956.
1957: The – interesting – Edsel was released.
1964: The incredibly successful Mustang was released.
1976: Ford expanded with its first internationally successful front-wheel drive Fiesta.
On April 1, 1985, a 25-year old man named Tim Michael claimed the third leg of the company’s journey, as Charlie Wiygul Ford became Capital Ford.
