Minimum Pay: $16.75 Position Overview SUMMARY (Basic Purpose of the Job) Provides support to the Hospital at Home program with routine, urgent, and complex supply and equipment needs to ensure quality patient care delivery is achieved. Oversees supply and equipment ordering, stocking, preparation, and maintenance, MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High school diploma or GED. Experience: Previous work experience in a medical or healthcare setting preferred. Other Credentials: AHA BLS. Non-Licensed must obtain before end of orientation period Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of basic medical terminology. Proficient in English. Verbal and written communication skills. No ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Stocks patient care supplies and equipment required for the Hospital at Home program. Maintains a well cleaned, organized environment. Works with department leadership to establish and maintain adequate par levels of storeroom supplies, including special order items and downtime forms. Checks supply expiration dates, rotation of supplies and maintenance of supply area for cleanliness. Establish and maintain adequate par levels of Durable Medical Equipment (DME), including but not limited to patient commodes, walkers and oxygen delivery devices. Establish and maintain adequate par levels of remote patient monitoring devices. Ensure all equipment is clean and in proper working order prior to being deployed for patient use. Contacts other departments, such as Clinical Equipment, Central Supply, and Maintenance for assistance as appropriate. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in dealing with patients, visitors, and health care team members. Demonstrates effective interpersonal working relationships and works cooperatively with healthcare team members. Identifies malfunctioning equipment and notifies appropriate personnel. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Measures the patient's head and attaches electrodes in accordance with the 10/20 international electrode placement system as evidenced by manager observations. Obtains a complete and relevant patient history to include medications as evidenced by departmental documentation tools. Prepares and provides an accurate technical report for the interpreting physician on all studies completed. Performs bio-calibration before and after each EEG study and records all montages in accordance with department policy and procedure as evidenced by the recordings. Performs applicable activation procedures and additional or special investigative montages as directed and/or in accordance with department policy and procedure. Transfers all studies upon completion via the network connection from the collection units (EEG, Ambulatory Reader) to the reader station and verifies transfer in accordance with department policy and procedure. Logs and submits charges on all completed studies immediately upon completion in accordance with department policy and procedure as evidenced by reporting systems. Measures accurately scalp and applicable electrode sites and applies all necessary recording electrodes to obtain a VEP, BAER, SSEP and ATC and ensures acceptable impedance under 3 K-Ohms. Obtains interpretable, replicable waveforms for a VEP, BAER, SSEP and ATC. Obtains additional or prolonged sampling in order to obtain desired outcome. Superimposes accurately all applicable recorded waveforms and measures/tags all replicable peaks in order to obtain absolute and interpeak latencies. Completes accurately and consistently all prerequisite test screening procedures prior to initiating examination as evidenced by documentation of visual acuity for VEP, auditory thresholds for BAEP and obtaining a visible thumb or toe twitch for SSEPs. Logs and submits charges on all completed studies immediately upon completion in accordance with departmental policy and procedure as evidenced by reporting systems. Cleans safely and thoroughly all electrolyte from the patients skin surface and/or scalp. Ensures safe and thorough cleaning of all recording apparatus, including electrodes in accordance with department policy and procedure as evidenced by manager observation. Obtains a complete and relevant patient history to include medications, seizure history, frequency, auras or prodromes, family history and an accurate description of events as described by a caregiver, family member, the patient or physician. Measures the patient's head and attaches electrodes in accordance with the 10/20 international electrode placement system as evidenced by manager observations. Tests functional integrity of electrodes and assures acceptable electrode impedances. Obtains appropriate electrode impedances and baseline EEG data as evidenced by impedance check and quality of EEG recording. Ensures adequate disk space for five or more days of continuous recorded video EEG and ensures spike detection software is activated and archive feature is on when study is initiated as evidenced by successful recording with no error messages and a complete recording. Ensures successful ongoing data transfer (cascade) from collector to reader station of video EEG in hour-long segments in twenty four hour cycles as evidenced by reader station database. Views all cascaded files, strips segments of baseline, routine and abnormal digital video EEG phenomena, creates linked or stripped files and successfully transfers files to reader station for physician review. Initiates all activation procedures as directed by physician by review of written orders and recordings. Removes all electrolyte and adhesive from the patient's scalp, face and all other applicable areas at termination of recording, completely and safely. Provides patient education regarding the use of adhesive removal materials. Archives all completed/interpreted LTM studies on CD(s) and places in secure patient file storage; deletes all unnecessary video/EEG data from collectors and reader station as evidenced by system databases. Logs patient's LTM admission as evidenced by LTM log and HBO GUI admission record. Logs and charges patient's LTM admissions. Performs accurate, interpretable special EEG, Evoked Potential procedures in the O.R. or Video EEG procedures including infant/newborn studies and the use of NP leads, when applicable or as directed by a physician. Obtains a complete and relevant clinical history and uses appropriate testing parameters in order to obtain relevant diagnostic information. Applies all relevant electrodes in accordance with the 10/20 international electrode placement system. Selects appropriate testing parameters to obtain clearer or more accurate test results. Prints or transfers all relevant data upon completion of testing, prepares all necessary forms/documents and routes studies for interpretation by a physician. Performs accurate and interpretable Transcranial Doppler studies in accordance with department policy and procedures. Documents intracranial velocities at all designated sites from all standard approaches as evidenced by departmental documentation tool. Prepares and prints a complete report of all transcranial doppler findings with waveforms for physician. Performs accurate, interpretable routine nerve conduction studies in accordance with department policy and procedure. Prepares equipment and obtains NCV's for physician review and assists physician with EMG and report generation; charges and logs procedures as evidenced by test results, hospital reporting systems and physician satisfaction. Performs accurate and interpretable Autonomic Nervous System testing (ANS) according to department policy and procedures. Prepares patient, explains testing procedures and coaches patient throughout testing safely obtaining accurate interpretable data as evidenced by report and physician satisfaction. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High school diploma or GED. Associate's degree preferred. Experience: Previous documented experience in EEG and one of the following neurodiagnostic specialties (EP, NCV, CNIM, LTM, or other appropriate specialty). First Pre-Admission Testing, located in 3 Cooper calls to review a patient's health information prior to a surgical procedure. Once approval for the recommended surgical procedure is finalized and patient information is reviewed the patient is provided with information on when and where to report. Once arrived and registered the patient is escorted to the appropriate location to be prepped for surgical procedure. These RN's prep the patient for the procedure. They review medical history, medical procedures and place an IV. Patients are met by Anesthesia and their Surgeon. Once everything is reviewed and verified the patient then goes to the OR. Logs and charges patient's LTM admissions. * Performs accurate, interpretable special EEG, Evoked Potential procedures in the O.R. or Video EEG procedures including infant/newborn studies and the use of NP leads, when applicable or as directed by a physician. Obtains a complete and relevant clinical history and uses appropriate testing parameters in order to obtain relevant diagnostic information. Applies all relevant electrodes in accordance with the 10/20 international electrode placement system. Selects appropriate testing parameters to obtain clearer or more accurate test results. Prints or transfers all relevant data upon completion of testing, prepares all necessary forms/documents and routes studies for interpretation by a physician. * Performs accurate and interpretable Transcranial Doppler studies in accordance with department policy and procedures. Documents intracranial velocities at all designated sites from all standard approaches as evidenced by departmental documentation tool. Prepares and prints a complete report of all transcranial doppler findings with waveforms for physician. * Performs accurate, interpretable routine nerve conduction studies in accordance with department policy and procedure. Prepares equipment and obtains NCV's for physician review and assists physician with EMG and report generation; charges and logs procedures as evidenced by test results, hospital reporting systems and physician satisfaction. Performs accurate and interpretable Autonomic Nervous System testing (ANS) according to department policy and procedures. Prepares patient, explains testing procedures and coaches patient throughout testing safely obtaining accurate interpretable data as evidenced by report and physician satisfaction. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Education: High school diploma or GED.
