How you'll contribute
Put your physical therapy skills to work where they're really needed -evaluate a patient's condition, develop a treatment plan, and help them get better, day by day. You'll also instruct the nursing staff and the patient's families on follow-through programs that build on the progress they've made
Communicate patient progress or problems to supervisor and other team members; assist with patient scheduling and post charges daily to patient records

Duties and Responsibilities

Under limited supervision, the DON plans, directs, organizes, and evaluates nursing services to meet the total needs of the community's residents; ensures anefficient health facility operation in cooperation with other departments and in compliance with state and federal regulations; and provides care in accordance with our “Philosophy for Person-Directed Care.”

Essential duties and responsibilities of the DON include, but may not be limited to:
Making daily rounds to observe residents and ensure that staffing levels meet residents' needs;
Ensuring all appropriate and necessary nursing care is provided in the Skilled Nursing setting;
Interacting with residents and families/responsible parties and staff; answers questions, gives directions and support;
Directing admissions and discharges within the Health Center; coordinating with the acute hospital, assisted living, and independent living staff;
Supervises nursing and management staff including scheduling, hiring, training, and evaluating; acts on team member concerns;
What you will need to be successful in this role:
Completion of Accredited Licensed Nursing Program (RN)
Current CA RN License
Current CPR certification
BS Degree, Masters preferred; or equivalent combination of education, training, and related professional experience
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional managerial experience in a related field
Excellent clinical observation and assessment skills
Proficient computer skills necessary to complete documentation, review electronic health records, and communicate with team members
