Job Summary
Summary: As a Banquet Captain at Georgia World Congress Center, you will oversee the setup, service, and breakdown of all catering functions while maintaining cleanliness and organization in all catering areas. Ensures strict compliance with all liquor laws and regulations during the service of alcoholic beverages. Performs additional duties as assigned to support overall catering excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Previous experience in banquet or catering operations, and strong knowledge of large-scale banquet setup, service standards, and event execution preffered.
Proficient in event order interpretation (BEOs) and coordination with other departments.
Excellent understanding of alcohol service laws and safety regulations (e.g. ServSafe Alcohol certification a plus).
Participates in the presentation and service of food and beverage items in adherence to company food standards for presentation, sanitation and safety (meeting HACCP and OSHA guidelines) and portion control.
Cleans work area and equipment used in food service area.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first attitude.
Cooperates with staff of other departments in performing job duties.
Contributes to the team; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Demonstrates ability to handle last-minute changes and resolve issues quickly and professionally.

Event Security

Provide leadership and guidance to staff. Serve as mentor/coach to all Security employees.
Provide timely, appropriate feedback to staff on performance, both positive and corrective.
Effectively communicate escalated employee issues to Security Management Team.
Administer appropriate performance reviews, counseling, and disciplinary documentation as needed to ensure compliance with State Farm Arena company/department policies.
Exhibit the ability to accept responsibility for the performance & conduct of the entire security team assigned to the deployment.
