The **Fire Captain** will serve as the Entry Team Officer at all emergency incidents that may occur because of natural forces, major accidents, fire or explosions, oil and hazardous material spills, and/or accidents occurring in confined spaces.

**Duties and Responsibilities** :
+ Work with the Assistant Chief to plan and develop policies and establish goals for the Platoon. Primarily responsible for the supervision of one Fire Station and its assigned apparatus.
+ Responds to all emergencies on the Depot with assigned engine company. When first to arrive, shall assume command until relieved by a senior Fire Officer. Act as the Fire Department Entry Team Officer at all emergencies.

+ Customarily directs the work of two (2) or more employees. Has the authority to recommend hiring, firing, promotion, and change of status of employees.

A Day in the Life:
Pre-Flight Preparation
Your day begins one hour prior to departure, giving you ample time to:

Collaborate with the Captain to discuss departure and arrival strategies, including diversion planning if needed.
Perform all required pre-flight checks, safety procedures, and flows to ensure the aircraft is clear.
In-Flight Operations
Operating the aircraft in full compliance with FAA regulations, JSX SOPs, and industry safety standards.
Maintain real-time communication with Mission Control (Dispatch), Ground Operations, ATC, and your Flight Attendant.
Serve as the secondary voice to the Captain in decision-making, ready to act quickly and confidently in dynamic conditions.
Post-Flight Duties
Assist with quick turn tasks, including light cabin tidying: clean tray tables, cross seatbelts, collect trash, and support the Flight Attendant as needed to ensure an on-time departure.
Log any maintenance in Traxxall and communicate critical updates to Mission Control
