Analyzes information regarding crime statistics, intelligence, and security concerns provided by sources such as local, state, federal law enforcement agencies, and or other reliable sources. Prepares a comprehensive monthly and annual report of those details, as well as assigned activity, findings, recommendations, actions, and dispositions of all assigned investigations. Submits reports to the Director of Public Safety in a timely and accurate manner. Completes and maintains daily logs and prepares required reports in an accurate and timely manner. Oversees that all assigned cases and investigations are forwarded to the Director of Public Safety for review and final disposition. Maintains the Record Management System and advises the supervisor with problems or concerns relative to the systems functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Accepts responsibility to supervise and direct additional fire companies and command an incident scene. * Performs first aid, CPR, automatic defibrillation, and medical assistance tasks as required. * Supervises and performs all phases of fire suppression duties, including laying hose lines, operating nozzles and master-stream devices, raising and climbing ladders, ventilation work, and salvage and overhaul operations. * Supervises and performs extrication and rescue operations to remove trapped victims from hazardous or life-threatening situations. * Participates in and conducts numerous types of training activities covering all phases of Department operations, including attendance at state and regional fire schools and seminars. * Participates in fire prevention activities by making fire prevention and fire safety inspections of schools, churches, hospitals, and other public and private business, commercial, and industrial facilities for fire hazards and fire code violations. * Performs first responder duties for hazardous material calls. * Cleans and performs routine maintenance on fire stations and grounds, apparatus, equipment, and tools. * Maintains detailed daily records, and prepares reports of company activities including emergency responses, training, and inspections. * Assists City Departments and citizens as necessary. * Evaluates performance of subordinate personnel. Material and Equipment Directly Used Use a variety of equipment including fire prevention and suppression equipment, emergency medical equipment, fire protective equipment, hand and power tools, communication equipment and other related equipment. Operation of various fire trucks and other motor vehicles. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required.
