Responsible for the safe transportation of the assigned barge(s) and for the safety of the cargo, vessel(s) and crew. Responsible for safe docking of ships, (when applicable). Required to perform administrative and supervisory functions. Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of tug and barge. Reporting Structure Position reports to the Studio Managing Director / Studio Director. Job Responsibilities: Develop solutions and details independently and under the direction of the Project Architect/Designer. Produce drawings and perform tasks in support of the project team. Assist Project Architect/Designer from design development through construction administration. Ability to execute work in the absence of the Project Architect/Designer. Produce design deliverables per contract. Anticipate problems and bring them to the attention of the Senior PA/AD. Knowledge and understand building codes, direct team members in the application of codes and standards. Generate project elements proficiently using Revit following office standards. Organize and present information to project team, consultant group and client. Coordinate specifications with construction documents. Develop filing documents and coordinate their signing and sealing with Partner-In-Charge. Make periodic site visits for observation of progress and character of work. Review shop drawings for compliance with documentation and recommend action. Identify questions and issues for review with Project Architect/Designer. Assist construction administration through project closeout. Role Qualifications: Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited institution. 2-5 years of professional experience in architecture and design. Proficient knowledge of Revit software. Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite and/or other design software. Newforma experience a plus. Participate in Marketing and Business Development for the firm. Show interest in understanding of design, detailing, materials and construction methods. Ability to take initiative in developing project scope and finding solutions for project issues. Your Role As a Job Captain in our New York office your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. What You Will Do * Partner with Project Architect to produce accurate technical and contract documentation for construction of project * Provide project team coordination for incorporating design intent into the construction documentation * Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control during construction * Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives * Utilize hand and 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts Your Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program * 5-8 years of post-graduation experience * Experience with Critical Facilities (i.e. data centers, command and control centers, high-performance computing, etc.) or similarly complex projects required * Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques * Experience in construction document preparation and field observation * Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) * Proficient in Revit, Rhino, SketchUp and other 3D modeling software * LEED accreditation preferred * For consideration, you must submit a portfolio and your resume in PDF format. The base salary range will be estimated between $82-95k. Gensler's total compensation package is multi-layered and includes a base salary, two annual bonuses paid in December and June, an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), and profit sharing.
