INTRODUCTION The Part-121 ATR Captain will conduct safe, efficient, compliant and professional flight services. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely maneuver the aircraft during all phases of flight; monitor all flight conditions including weather and cargo safety, and verify go/no-go decision; verify fuel requirements and related weather variables and ensure proper loading; make alternate destination decisions when the intended destination is unavailable.
Maintain command of all situations as they arise due to unexpected circumstances during the flight; ensure proper communication with stations, towers, flight controllers and dispatchers during the flight; file all reports required by the FAA and report any unusual aircraft behavior or performance to dispatch or maintenance personnel; properly record flight-hours in conjunction with Dispatch and adhere to FAA rest requirements and company directives.
Supervise and evaluate staff; maintain familiarity and knowledge of applicable changes in regulations and procedures concerning the safe operation of all company aircraft; maintain thorough knowledge of all applicable policies, procedures, manuals, handbooks and protocol; serve as a positive, constructive and communicative leader for the company and its customers.
Review company bulletins and other correspondence on a daily basis, including emails and voicemails; submit all transmittals, expense reports and other company documents/correspondence in an accurate and timely manner, in accordance with policy and procedures.
Serve as a role model for ethical behavior, maintain a professional and dignified work environment, and promote and support the mission of Empire Airlines.

In 2019, T. Parker Host acquired United Bulk Terminals (UBT) on Mile 55 of the Mississippi River as one of the largest bulk terminals in the U.S. Gulf, specializing in coal and petcoke. This 1,200 acre property in Davant, Louisiana is capable of extensive loading, discharging and storage - with deep-water docks, fleeting capacity for 500 barges and over 40 pieces of heavy equipment to handle cargo loads.
Since the acquisition, HOST has made extensive improvements in systems and equipment, making the facility safer, more environmentally friendly, and more efficient to better serve our customers.
Position Summary: Responsible for safe navigation, and vessel & crew management, of push boats at United Bulk Terminals- Davant. Captains will coordinate and execute a rigorous daily schedule to support the facility, and customer needs as well as supervise daily, routine and emergency vessel maintenance.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsible for the safe and reliable daily operation of their tug
Serve as primary tug vessel operator, safely maneuvering tug and barge(s) throughout the UBT fleet
Direct deckhands in docking & undocking maneuvers
Maintain tug records including vessel logbook and HELM
Coordinate and conduct scheduled drills with tug, crew and port captain
Ensure vessels are always clean and well maintained
Ensure daily barge inspection/checklists are being conducted and completed in HELM
Prepare for and participate in USCG required internal and external audits
Responsible for the safe and reliable daily operation of fleet of two (2) assists tugs
Coordinate between boat and shore side staff to ensure safe operation of barge movements in respect to daily schedule, weather, shore side-line handling, assist tug operation, and barge maintenance.
Responsible for deck side consumable and spare part requests.
Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required:
Minimum license: 200 Ton Master, inland, with towing and radar endorsement. (100 Tons with towing endorsement considered on a case-by-case basis)
Valid TWIC
Valid US Driver's License
Previous experience as Master of a twin-screw tug engaged in fleet work
Excellent communication skills in order to communicate effectively/efficiently with crew members, shore staff, customer, and line handlers via VHF, email, and/or mobile phone
Ability to get along with crew members in confined quarters for prolonged periods of time
Must be able to direct, evaluate, and correct performance of subordinates
Ability to adapt to a variety of schedules and hours
Ability to work around the clock shifts and holidays and weekend.
Willingness and ability to be flexible and creative

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Required Work Experience: 5-10 years' experience operating Towing vessels, and moving barges in our working area 2 years' experience supervising a tow boat crew
Required Training/Certifications: Captains must hold a Master of Towing / Mate of Towing Vessels or Master of 200 gross tons or more with towing vessels endorsement license issued by the United States Coast Guard, with a radar observer endorsement.
Travel Requirements: Must be able to work 15 days on, 7 days off; stands watch for 12 hours each day, divided in to six hour shifts.
Additional Requirements:

Must be thoroughly familiar with tank barge, ship and terminal/refinery operations.

Complete a 24 hour HAZWOPER (including Incident Command System) training within 6 months of being hired.
First Aid/CPR training.
STCW Certification.
Valid State Driver's license.
Ability to get along with office staff and vessel crew members.
Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive communications.
Able and willing to travel to the out ports.

Capable of making decisions and giving directions to facilitate prompt service delivery.
Must be physically fit enough to board barges and tugs at sea and in port.

Expected Hours of Work
Normal office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Take communications 24 hours a day, including weekends concerning changes in schedules and conditions.

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Port Captain has shore-based responsibility for ensuring the effective operations of assigned vessels.
Responsibilities & Authorities:
Performs a wide variety of tasks relating to the safe and efficient operation of the vessels under Patriots management.
Troubleshoots and problem solves as needed for safe and efficient operations of vessels.
Assists in the identification of Senior Officers to fill vacant positions.
Member of the Human Resources Committee
Assists with the implementation of labor Memoranda of Understanding in new contracts.
Assists Program Managers in ensuring that vessels are operated in accordance with the contracts Patriot has with its customers.
Assists Program and Contract Managers in the management of Deck Department functions aboard PCS vessels.

Assists in Labor Relations and Crewing processes.
Works with the training schools and with government training organizations to improve the efficiency of the training processes.
Assists Payroll, Purchasing, and Claims personnel with vessel specific questions.
Assists in the business development process.
Reviews RFP requirements as they relate to labor:
Assists with overtime assumptions and labor cost verifications

Qualifications:
US Citizen
Holds or is eligible for a SECRET security clearance

A minimum of five years of seagoing experience as a ships Master or Chief Mate on a USCG unlimited license; or
A combination of a bachelors degree in Marine Transportation and at least three years of documented sailing experience on a USCG unlimited license; or
Equivalent experience acceptable to the Executive Committee
Computer literate
Able to embark and disembark large, high-freeboard vessels via a pilot ladder and/or gangway
