About the Role:
The Union Janitor position at Toledo Machining, located within the Consumer Support Services industry, is essential for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all employees and visitors. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that the facility meets health and safety standards. The janitor will work as part of a unionized team, adhering to established protocols and contributing to a cooperative workplace culture. Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, with an understanding of safety procedures.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as required.
Eligibility to work in a unionized environment and comply with union rules and agreements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous janitorial or custodial experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.

Responsibilities:
Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal throughout the facility.
Sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety.
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in accordance with safety guidelines and union regulations.
Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the appropriate personnel promptly.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure cleaning schedules and union work agreements are followed.
Skills:
The required skills for this role include proficiency in using various cleaning tools and chemicals safely and effectively to maintain facility cleanliness. Physical stamina and attention to detail are essential to perform repetitive tasks while ensuring thoroughness and adherence to safety standards. Use ATP bioluminescence device to verify cleaning and sanitation effectiveness.
Troubleshoot root causes of cleaning and sanitation failures and participate in problem-solving.
Observe and follow safety procedures.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP), Food Safety Plan (HACCP), and Food Quality Plan (FQP).
