The new scale line proved to be so successful that WH Perry had to resign from his previous job at the Webb Corporation in 1956 and devote his full attention to his new and rapidly growing company.
1958 In 1958 an agreement was reached between Cardinal Scale and LR Murphy Company, and the two companies began working together, manufacturing and marketing all-steel, welded motor truck and axle-load scales to all parts of the country.
1973 Cardinal Scale and LR Murphy were closely associated for 15 years, and then in 1973, Cardinal Scale acquired Murphy Scale and completely integrated the operation, with full-service plants in Webb City, Sacramento, and Denver.
1986 Cardinal/Detecto purchases Fuller Weighing, based in Columbus, OH, and begins manufacturing liquid filling devices and in-motion checkweighers.
1988 Cardinal Scale acquires National Transducers in order to make solar powered scales.
2000 Cardinal Scale requires more production space for their strain gauge load cell manufacturing processes and builds a 15,000-square-ft Load Cell building using solid concrete construction.
2005 Cardinal Scale founder WH Perry passes away on August 19, 2005 and his wife follows on October 19 of the same year.
2009 Cardinal/Detecto again needs more production space, this time for truck scale fabricated weighbridges, and completes construction of the new Building 15 on the eastern side of the company's campus.
2017 Cardinal/Detecto and the City of Webb City complete the Cardinal Route 66 Park, a tribute to Cardinal/Detecto’s founder and his wife, WH and Marion Perry.
2018 In January 2018, Cardinal/Detecto launches the new ARMOR digital truck scale with advanced weighbridge improvements and iSite remote monitoring software that quickly captures the attention of the truck scale industry.
