Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist - (210003G1) Description The Heart & Vascular Institute at Tampa General Hospital and University of South Florida is recruiting an outstanding Advanced Heart Failure, MCS and Transplant cardiologist to join our expanding team at the Assistant, Associate or Professor rank.
Our team includes 11 heart failure/transplant cardiologists, 5 heart failure surgeons, a heart failure fellow, and 13 advanced practice providers with 24/7 in-house hospital coverage. We have a very large and expanding ambulatory practice with subspecialty clinics, comprising over 15,000 patients per year. Our subspecialty programs include Cardio-oncology, Genetic Cardiomyopathy Clinic, Amyloid Cardiomyopathy Clinic, Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic, and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Clinic.
Our academics focus on the education of fellows, residents and medical students as well as the conduction of investigator-initiated research and leadership in national and international clinical trials. In addition, there are ample opportunities for basic and translational research within and in collaboration wit the USF Heart Institute for Research, a free-standing world class facility in downtown Tampa's budding Medical District.
Tampa General Hospital and the University of South Florida have partnered to form the only academic medical center on the West Coast of Florida. Ours is one of the oldest and largest heart transplant programs in the country, having completed over 1500 heart transplants and implanted 800 LVADs through March 2022.
