The Echo Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures, using independent judgment to obtain clear and accurate images for physician evaluation. This role is responsible for ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accurate identification prior to procedures. The Echo Technologist collaborates with healthcare teams to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging and reports to support effective patient care.
Essential Functions
Performs echocardiographic studies, including 2-D imaging, M-mode tracings, and Doppler recordings, adhering to departmental standards and physician guidelines.
Assumes responsibility for patient safety and comfort throughout procedures, ensuring proper positioning and monitoring during exams.
Acquires quality Stress Echo and Dobutamine images, adhering to benchmark standards, with post-exercise image acquisition within 60 seconds or less.
Assists physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs), ensuring optimal imaging and patient safety during the procedure.
Prepares and maintains equipment, supplies, and work areas, ensuring they are organized and readily available for patient care.
Accurately documents preliminary reports, procedural results, and patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR), maintaining confidentiality.
Verifies patient identity, orders, and consents before conducting procedures, adhering to patient safety protocols.
Collaborates with healthcare teams, providing information about patient conditions or changes during procedures to ensure timely evaluation and interpretation by reading cardiologists.
Demonstrates competency in age-specific care, adapting imaging techniques to meet the physiological, emotional, and cognitive needs of each patient.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in echocardiography or cardiac sonography required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in echocardiographic imaging, including 2-D, M-mode, and Doppler techniques.
Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and disease processes to obtain accurate diagnostic images.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams.
Ability to operate ultrasound equipment safely and effectively, adhering to infection control and patient safety protocols.
Competence in electronic medical record (EMR) systems for documentation and reporting.
Licenses and Certifications

Cardiac Device Remote Technician Required Qualifications:
We seek an individual with experience in device technology, monitor/telemetry, or Holter scanning, with a strong foundation in ECG interpretation. Essential skills include proficiency in Holter/event monitor scanning, data analysis, editing, and report preparation for cardiologist review.

Maintains assortment of equipment to assure proper function; troubleshoots equipment problems and performs quality controls.

Work Shift:
Days/Evenings (United States of America) Perform certain procedures and tasks under the direction of a registered nurse per state practice act, hospital policies, procedures, standards, practice skills, check lists and demonstrated competencies. The telemetry monitor technician has duties related to monitoring, reporting and recording cardiac rhythms and changes in cardiac rhythm accurately, per specific guidelines.
Observes and accurately interprets cardiac monitors and reports changes in baseline rhythm patterns.
Documents patient data per policy under direct supervision of RN/LPN or designated healthcare professional.
Provides support to RN by assisting with patient care, retrieving supplies from other departments, and delivering specimens or picking up blood supplies from the laboratory.
Provides clerical support and coordinates communication to support the function of the nursing unit.
Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills, including telephone, electronic, and in person. Relays clear, concise information, uses courtesy and tact in relating to patients/visitors, employees and providers and escalates issues when appropriate using established protocols and the chain of command.
Attends and participates in unit/department meetings per unit policy and participates in required programs.
Participates in quality improvement studies and projects as directed.
Requires sitting for prolonged periods of time.
Education:
HS Diploma/GED
EKG Preferred
STNA Preferred
Experience:
Preference for recent experience in acute care or long term care facility
Computer proficiency with ability to access and input data into multiple programs preferred
*Must Pass EKG testing within 3 attempts to maintain employment on position
*CPR with BLS, Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, obtained within 6 months of hire
*This is a bargaining unit position.

Job DescriptionDescriptionThe Ophthalmic Technician participates in the care of patients in a clinic setting. As an Ophthalmic Technician you will greet patients and explain what they should expect during their appointment. An Ophthalmic Technician escorts the patient to an exam room and performs diagnostic ophthalmic tests and procedures prior to physician seeing them such as visual acuity, tonometry and lensometry. Assures appropriate notes and updates patient chart/records accurately. Maintains clinic environment including sterilization cleaning.

What you will be doing
Interacts with patients to accurately gather information and enter it into our electronic medical records system;
Proactively engages patients in communicating what to expect with the visit and continues to communicate delays or any other changes with the patient.
Initiates and performs documentation of the patient's chief complaint, present illness, and captures past medical history.
Accurately records all information in EMR system according to established standards and physician requirements
Conducts tests and measures eye muscle function, pupil size, and reactivity.
Apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes
Assists with minor surgery procedures, intraocular injections and laser treatments, in an exam room or treatment room, including preparing patients for sterile procedures.
Educates patients regarding the administration of medications, and pre and post operative instructions, as directed by physicians.
Readily scribes for physician
Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records, completing diagnostic and procedure coding, and keeping patient information confidential, following all HIPAA requirements.
Utilizes effective problem-solving skills to respectfully and efficiently de-escalate any dissatisfied patients
Demonstrate basic knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, symptoms & ocular medications
Stay current with the latest technologies and medications and be able to answer general patient questions
Assists team members and completes other special projects as requested.
What you know Required
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs
Desired
Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience
Knowledge of medical terminology
Proficient in all OT I and OT II duties; has more than 2 years of experience
Typically has 3-5 + years of Experience
Eligible for COA, COT, or COMT
