Spectra Human Services 3.9
Greenwood Village, CO jobs
Spectrum is a full-service agency that provides care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities receiving services through the Home and Community Based (HCBS) Medicaid waivers.
Our Mission:
Individuals and their families now have more choice about where their services are delivered and more control over who can deliver those services. On November 1, 2010, the Division for Developmental Disabilities (DDD) notified stakeholders that the long awaited Family Caregiver model was available to qualified applicants. This option is now open for individuals enrolled in all developmental disability waivers (CES, SLS and HCBS-DD/ Comprehensive) and state general funded SLS (State SLS) and allows services to be delivered by family members in the family home or other community based settings.
The intent of this new model is to provide greater service flexibility and expand provider choice and living options. As with all service choices, consideration is first given to the wishes of the individual. Services must also meet the person's needs as identified by the interdisciplinary team (IDT) and meet the definition of least restrictive environment. Family members interested in this model will have the same training and monitoring requirements as other service providers. Legally responsible family members (parent of a minor child or an individual's spouse) cannot be a paid provider for their family member under Family Caregiver.
Family Caregivers:
As a Family Care Giver you provide supervision and support to YOUR family member within your home. The supports you provide are identified in your Service Plan which includes, but is not limited to: assisting with hygiene needs, providing basic first aid, monitoring/ensuring safety, transportation to various appointments and activities, planning and/or assisting with work and recreation activities, budgeting assistance, life skills training (i.e., sex education and relationship building), meal preparation, assisting with behavioral management needs and crisis intervention. Full-time Description
Would you enjoy a career where your social interactions, meal preparations and light house keeping enhance the quality of someone's life and serve in a way that makes a difference?
The Visiting Nurse Association is seeking a Home Maker to engage and create personal connections with our clients while making their living environment comfortable, safe and enjoyable. During each work shift, the Homemaker spends time completing general household work that could include (but is not limited to) assisting the client with light dusting around objects, vacuuming, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, laundry, and maintaining bathrooms to provide a safe, sanitary home for each client we serve. You don't have to be a gourmet chef but you might also prepare a good meal, work your way around a kitchen and run to the grocery store, if needed.
We have a great work culture and look for people with a similar mindset. Here are a few character traits we look for as we add a new member to our team:
ability to listen well and verbally communicate easily with people at all levels
present a lasting impression of honesty with a kind demeanor and never short of a smile
is energetic, able to adjust to a variety of work environments and thrives on a challenge
If you are passionate about helping a client remain independent in their personal home, take real pride in your work, are resourceful, accountable, and adaptable; we want to talk with you about this opportunity. Apply online today!
