Weekend Baylor RN Saturday and Sunday every weekend Summary: The RN Baylor Nurse works under the supervision of the Clinical Manager or Director or designee. Scheduled hours worked are 24 weekend hours with pay and benefits reflecting 32 hours. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the RN Baylor Nurse works under the supervision of a Clinical Manager or Director and the attending physician to coordinate all aspects of the patient's care in accordance with current professional standards and practice to maximize the comfort and health of patients and families. What You'll Contribute: Proficient in responsibilities specific to the position. Responsible for identifying patient/family needs and for providing supportive care in accordance with the attending physician's orders and plan of care and Care Dimensions' policies and procedures. Obtains relevant clinical information from patient records and from other staff members to ensure necessary familiarity with patient/family situations which require intervention. Communicates pertinent information to primary nurse and/or designated manager. Maintains regular and effective communication with other clinical staff, so that patient activities are coordinated and consistent. Performs other duties assigned as required or requested. Must obtain and maintain any certifications required for the performance of this functional role as defined by Care Dimensions Ability to transport self to patient's home/facility may be multiple locations in a work day. What You'll Bring: Registered Nurse, currently licensed in Massachusetts in good standing. Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree in nursing, or equivalent preferred. Minimum three years of varied work experience as a professional nurse, and preferably one of the three years in an acute setting. Demonstrated ability to assess and respond to the needs of patients and families in varied settings. Skilled in nursing practice, able to cope with family emotional stress and tolerant of individual lifestyles. Demonstrated understanding of hospice philosophy and principles. Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation and ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and in good working order. #INDRN The Pay Range listed is the anticipated hiring range of this position. Precise pay rates are determined through consideration of one or more of the following: education, training, relevant experience and work location. There are some cases in which the pay rate could exceed the range listed on this job post.     Job Posting Description Interventional radiology is a minimally invasive way of assessing disease and delivering targeted treatments. Interventional radiologists are board-certified physicians with advanced training in minimally invasive therapy guided by imaging tools such as fluoroscopy (X-ray), computed tomography (CT) and ultrasound. Many diseases that once required surgical treatment can be treated non-surgically by interventional radiologists with less risk, less pain, and faster recovery time. It is routinely used to perform biopsies and to place shunts, feeding and drainage tubes, and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs). It can also be an alternative to surgery for serious medical conditions, such as vascular malformations, blood clots and kidney or liver abnormalities. Key Responsibilities: Managing patients in Interventional Radiology throughout the continuum of care. Patient assessment, procedural care, and recovery from anesthesia. Interventional radiology is a procedural unit that operates Monday-Friday for scheduled cases and covers emergencies on off hours for both ambulatory and inpatients. IR performs a wide range of sterile and non-sterile procedures using minimally invasive techniques; Some examples include Angiography, Sclerotherapy, Embolization, Needle Biopsy, Vascular Access, Cryoablation, Radiofrequency Ablation, thrombectomy, and Gastrojejunostomy exchanges. Working 10-hour day and evening shifts, 30 hours per week between the hours of 6:00am - 7:00pm Monday - Friday and call rotations. On Call rotations for nights/weekends/holidays are typically 2 - 3 weeknights/month, 6 - 7 weekends a year, and 1 holiday/year. Must be able to report to the hospital within 45 minutes when on call. There are three distinct branches within the Child Protection Program: the Child Protection Team Consult Service, the domestic violence program (AWAKE), and outpatient clinical services. The RN Fellowship is an immersive program designed to support an experienced registered nurse, with an interest in transitioning in practice in Child Protection. Key responsibilities: Participating in didactic lessons, simulations, and practice-based learning as part of a multidisciplinary team. Addressing the epidemiology, signs and symptoms, risk factors, evaluation and interventions across the spectrum of child abuse, neglect and maltreatment in the hospital and ambulatory settings. Assure the implementation of resident care plans. Conduct assessments and care plans appropriate for residents admitted to the facility. Communicate pertinent information and interpret facility policies to residents, staff, families and visitors. Communicate effectively will all disciplines. Keep DON informed of information of any changes in resident condition. Review, investigate and document properly all incidents/accidents. Coordinate orientation for new nursing staff. Implement progressive discipline when appropriate. Evaluate emergency situations and take appropriate action. Participate in facility surveys made by authorized agencies. Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required. Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, charting, etc., as necessary. Complete and file required record keeping forms/charts upon the resident's admission, transfer, and or discharge. Receive phone orders from physicians and record on the Physician's Order Form. Chart all reports of accidents/incidents involving residents. Follow established procedures. Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician. Verify the identity of the resident before administering the medication/treatment. Ensure adequate medications, supplies, and equipment are available. Report needs to DON. Ensure narcotic records are accurate for your shift. Notify DON of all drug and narcotic discrepancies. Performs all job responsibilities in accordance with safety and infection control policies and procedures, including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves where indicated and proper disposal of soiled materials. Follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids. All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that exhibits the IHC mission, vision, and core values. Requirements of the Nurse Supervisor: Registered Nurse in the State of Massachusetts Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care facility preferred Strong organizational skills; detail oriented Exceptional critical thinking skills High level of professionalism and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards Must have compassion, tolerance and understanding for older adults.
