We Are There Wherever You Need Us

Palliative Care for Advanced Illness
For patients who aren't ready for hospice, our palliative care program adds a layer of support for patients with serious illness by providing relief from pain and other symptoms; assisting families in making difficult medical decisions; coordinating care with the patient's physicians; and providing emotional and spiritual support.

Hospice Nurse (weekend baylor position) - Work 24 hours/week and get paid for 32 hours/week!

Summary: The Registered Nurse (weekend) works under the supervision of the Clinical Manager or Director or designee. Scheduled hours worked are 24 weekend hours with pay and benefits reflecting 32 hours. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse coordinates all aspects of the patient's care in accordance with current professional standards and practice to maximize the comfort and health of patients and families. Responsibilities include visits to routine hospice patients and hospice admission visits, in a various settings including inpatient (hospital), nursing facilities and personal homes.
What You'll Contribute:
Proficient in responsibilities specific to the position.
Responsible for identifying patient/family needs and for providing supportive care in accordance with the attending physician's orders and plan of care and Care Dimensions' policies and procedures.
Obtains relevant clinical information from patient records and from other staff members to ensure necessary familiarity with patient/family situations which require intervention.
Communicates pertinent information to primary nurse and/or designated manager.
Maintains regular and effective communication with other clinical staff, so that patient activities are coordinated and consistent.
Performs other duties assigned as required or requested.

The Per Diem nurse's efforts will focus on assessing patient/family needs and providing supportive care including home-based blood transfusions, in accordance with provider orders, specific protocols, the plan of care, and Care Dimensions' policies and procedures.
The Per Diem Nurse will work under the supervision of the Clinical Manager or designee with collaboration with the research team. Assignments and hours worked are arranged depending on the patient caseload and the pre-arranged availability of the per diem nurse.
The ideal candidate will have interest and experience in the following area(s):
Registered Nurse with oncology or strong medical/surgical experience.
Administering blood transfusions, including competence in accessing and care of peripheral and central lines including Port-A-Cath.
Developing peripheral venous / central line access and transfusion policies, procedures, and/or standards of practice
What You'll Bring:
Registered Nurse, currently licensed in Massachusetts in good standing.
Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree in nursing, or equivalent preferred.
Minimum three years of varied work experience as a professional nurse, and preferably one of the three years in an acute setting.
Demonstrated ability to assess and respond to the needs of patients and families in varied settings.
Skilled in nursing practice, able to cope with family emotional stress and tolerant of individual lifestyles.
Demonstrated understanding of hospice philosophy and principles.
Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation and ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
The Pay Range listed is the anticipated hiring range of this position. Precise pay rates are determined through consideration of one or more of the following: education, training, relevant experience and work location. There are some cases in which the pay rate could exceed the range listed on this job post.
