The Technical Partner has the responsibility for providing direct patient care under the direction of a Clinical Partner. Responsible for patient care items such as simple respiratory, phlebotomy, and EKG's etc. Performs other patient comfort duties necessary to maintain the flow of patient care in the unit.

Essential Functions:- Upholds Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities and applicable state, federal and local laws- Non-licensed Technical Partner: Assists in facilitating patient care, ie, vital signs, bed baths, answers call lights, assists patients to bathroom/bedpan, Intake and Output- Transcribes physician orders- Assists in delivery of meal trays and nourishments; patient feeding and completion of menus; refers high-risk patients to clinical dietitian- Lifts, turns, repositions or ambulates patients according to established techniques- Transports patients- Makes patient beds- Administers minor treatments, procedures, such as non-medicated enemas (Harris Flush, soap suds and Fleets); preparations; and non-sterile dressing changes- Assists in coordinating discharge process, i.e., pharmacy, business office clearance, patient readiness, etc- Assists in ordering and distribution of unit supplies and equipment- Replenishes supplies in patient rooms- Ensures cleanliness of nursing station, patient room, and unit environment by cleaning equipment and storage areas, initiates or follows-up regarding proper functioning of patient care equipment at all times- Identifies changing conditions or test abnormalities and reports to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner- Identifies discharge barriers and learning deficits - Provides information within their scope and keeps appropriate personnel informed- Obtains specimen, and assures correctness of culture collection- Performs peripheral phlebotomy- Administers simple respiratory care treatments as directed by the RN - Assures appropriate coding of treatment- Follows physical therapy plan of care including ROM without mobility restriction, strengthening exercises, non-mediated pain management, and routine splinting- Performs routine EKG- Documents care in chart- Responds to emergency situations- Performs other duties and responsibilities
