General Description:
Under the general supervision of the JP SC/PM, this position is responsible for the intake, assessment, and evaluation of Jobs Plus program participants in accordance with the Jobs Plus Initiative grant agreement and guidance promulgated by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Minimum Training and Experience:
Requires graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, social services, human services, education or related field and one year of full-time paid experience in human services involving direct services to clientele. Special Certifications and Licenses:
A valid driver's license is required.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Considerable knowledgeable of the characteristics, needs and interests of public housing residents. Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of program planning and evaluation. Considerable knowledge of federal, state and local housing regulations as applied to Resident Services programs. Good knowledge of accepted consultation and interviewing techniques. 6. Develops an annual budget and monitor budget expenditures to ensure fiscal goals and benchmarks.
7. Develops an annual operational work plan.
8. Effectively markets the Jobs Plus program to workable residents and community partners.
9. Recruits, enrolls and retains program participants.
10. Interviews and determines the eligibility of participants for the Jobs Plus Program.
11. Assesses service needs of program participants, and through service coordination, assists participants in accessing appropriate public or private community agencies to obtain specialized types of assistance.

The AmeriCorps Career Coaches is a partnership between the Ohio Commission on Service and Volunteerism (ServeOhio), College Now Greater Cleveland, and the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD). The goal of the AmeriCorps Career Pathway Coaches is to deliver curriculum on career and college pathways and self-discovery and to serve as role models and coaches for Cleveland Metropolitan School District 8th graders and high school students attending the Academies of Cleveland. The service provided by the Career Pathway Coaches will impact the skills and career gap in Greater Cleveland. Career Pathway Coaches will provide direct support and interventions that will increase 8th graders confidence in their high school choice as well as impacting an increase in 9th -12th grade student's knowledge of career and college opportunities, interest in further pursuing a path toward a postsecondary education and belief that their postsecondary goal can become a reality. This position is a full-time commitment of 1700 service hours to be completed in 11 months, starting in August 2022. Career Coaches will receive a modest living allowance up to $16,502 and an education award up to $6,495 upon completion of service. Additionally, existing qualified student loans are deferred during time of service and accrued interest may be eligible to be paid by the Corporation of National and Community Service.
