Responsibilities Position is in the Emergency Department of a non-teaching hospital with 43 ED beds, including Clinical Decision and Behavioral Health beds Serves a general ED population from pediatric to geriatric with an average daily census of 145 Typical patient diagnoses include trauma stabilization for transfer, respiratory illness, stroke, behavioral health, acute MI, uncontrollable diabetes, and minor trauma RN to patient ratios range from 1:3-4 based on acuity 12-hour night shifts (1900-0700) with every other weekend required Scheduled to work 75% of holidays No on-call responsibilities Floating required to multiple hospitals and freestanding EDs within the region and Central Division, with paid mid-shift float travel time Utilizes EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors Duties include delivering emergency care for a broad spectrum of conditions within a busy ED environment Support staff includes HCT/Unit Secretaries, Paramedics, Charge Nurses, Safety Attendants, Pharmacists, Social Workers, Respiratory Therapists, ED Physicians, APPs, Hospitalists, and Intensivists Orientation includes general onboarding and two days of departmental training Scrub color requirement is navy blue Free parking is available Work environment is described as welcoming, helpful, and busy Requirements Active NC or compact state RN license required Minimum of 2 years recent ED nursing experience Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI General ED skillset required, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation Charge RN experience preferred TNCC certification preferred Experience with EPIC EMR preferred Applicants must live at least 50 miles from the facility First-time travelers are not accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-657758.
