2001

In 2001 Alaris introduced its proprietary Guardrails Safety Software, an application designed to prevent medication administration errors, to be used with the company's Medley Medication Safety System.

2002

In the fall of 2002 Alaris announced that Guardrails would be made available to a second major line of IV infusion devices, the Signature Edition GOLD System.

2003

In late 2003 Alaris announced a three-year agreement to provide the Medley Medication Safety System, along with Guardrails Safety Software, to Magnet, a purchasing consortium with over 775 acute-care provider members.

2004

Alaris also began to seek more international business, announcing its attention at the beginning of 2004 to sell its "smart pumps" outside of the United States.

2007

2010

On May 17, 2010, CareFusion acquired Medegen, Inc. for US$ 225 million in cash.

2011

On February 1, 2011, Kieran T. Gallahue was named CareFusion’s chairman and CEO.

2012

In April 2012, CareFusion sold the Nicolet operating unit to Natus Medical Incorporated for $58 million.

On July 7, 2012, CareFusion acquired U.K. Medical Limited, a distributor of medical products to the National Health Service and private health care sector in the United Kingdom.

2013

On November 18, 2013, CareFusion acquired Vital Signs Inc., a medical device manufacturing business, with the exception of European operations from GE Healthcare.

In 2013, CareFusion bought 40% of the Israeli company Caesarea Medical Electronics.

2014

The company brought in revenue of $3.8 billion in fiscal year 2014, which ended on June 30.

2015

The acquisition was completed on March 17, 2015.

2018

The savings would be fully realized by 2018, Vincent Forlenza, CEO of Becton, Dickinson, said in a phone interview Sunday.
