JOB TITLE: Personal Care Attendant
DEPARTMENT: Home Health
REPORTS TO: Clinical Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
A Personal Care Attendant generally is responsible for light cleaning, cooking, running errands, and doing laundry, as well as assisting clients with bathing, showering, grooming, and other personal hygiene tasks. They also engage clients in activities like reading, talking, and general companionship.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to pass a fingerprint/background check.
Valid state driver's license
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Assist clients with basic hygiene and grooming duties to promote adequate self-care.
Help clients dress, bathe, eat etc.
Ensure clients receive their medication on time (medication reminder)
Do routine housekeeping chores-including various cooking and cleaning duties-that the client is otherwise unable to do themselves.
Transport clients to appointments, errands, and other necessary off-site locations- when required.
Provide physical assistance-such as help getting in and out of bed or walking with a walker-to clients when required.
Maintain detailed records of the client's activities and report any relevant changes to the supervisor.
Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
Provide companionship and emotional support.

Providing light housekeeping (sweeping, vacuuming, wiping countertops), changing bed linens, doing laundry, and dry folding.
Document patient care, changes in condition, progress, or problems, and to report and discuss observations with the supervisor as soon as possible.
Build relationships with patients through genuine companionship.
Medication reminder.
Engage patients in exercises or other activities.
Support with transporting to doctor's appointment, medication pick up and running errands.
Qualifications
At least 6 months of prior home health aid/caregiver experience in a homecare company or facility is preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently with compassion and integrity.
Effective communication skills with coworkers, family, and clients.
Active Drivers license.
Willingness to undergo and pass comprehensive Criminal Background Checks, MVD and Health Screenings, Drug testing, and Reference Checks.
