Duties: You will assist the clients by: Preparing meals Assisting with personal care Performing light housekeeping Completing shopping and errands Qualifications: At least 18 years of age Physical ability to perform personal care tasks Ability to read, write, understand, carry out directions, keep simple medical records and function with minimal supervision Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Must have reliable transportation Job Skills and Requirements Other qualities we are looking for: Attention to Detail - some clients have specific rules or schedules that must be followed or specific dietary or physical rules that must be followed. Interpersonal Skills: Personal Care Attendants work in a very personal way with their clients. Some will be in pain or very sensitive to their fragility. You must be sensitive and compassionate with clients. Stamina: You will need to assist the client into chairs, bed, bathtub and cars. Time Management: Each client has a Plan of Care, you will need to make sure that the client is on time to appointments and that all your duties are fulfilled in the time allotted. Caring: You can make a difference in a person's life, just by being there for them and assisting them in their daily activities.
