Position Description:

The Ocean Cargo Specialist Underwriter has senior responsibilities including a renewal book of $2M - $3M and a new business goal of approximately $1M-$1.5M annually.The position will be responsible for driving profitable growth with New York Region agents and brokers.This specialist Ocean Cargo underwriter will handle traditional marine transit and warehouse exposures.In addition, this underwriter will also underwrite stock throughputs, broker forms, and quota share insurance programs.Depending upon the candidate's interest and expertise, there will also be an opportunity to underwrite Inland Marine.This position will collaborate within a large team of UW other underwriters, operations, claims, marketing, and home office management as necessary.We are looking for a candidate who is highly motivated, results oriented with solid business and underwriting acumen.


Location: Flexible on location, but must travel to the Northeast


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Focused knowledge and experienced in Ocean Cargo.Experience with Inland Marine is a plus.
  • Underwriting duties will include developing and negotiating price, coverage, terms and conditions for all new business and renewals while actively identifying account rounding opportunities for other Chubb practices
  • This position must collaborate with other underwriters, operations, claims, marketing, and home office management as necessary.The underwriter must implement and manage effective pricing and rate strategies that will produce profitability, book growth, and successful producer relations.
  • Strong sales and marketing skills are critical; must be able to demonstrate successful agency and broker management, including building, maintaining, and managing producer and customer relationships.

Army National Guard cargo specialist job description

Without supplies, the Army National Guard wouldn't be able to serve the community and the country. Whether by land, air, or sea, the safe shipment and arrival of all cargo is the responsibility of the Cargo Specialist, and it's up to you to provide troops with any supplies, weapons, equipment, and mail they need.

In this role, you will be in charge of the transfer of cargo and passengers to and from watercraft, docks, beaches, railheads, boxcars, warehouses, motor vehicles, and aircraft. This often requires the use of specialized equipment such as forklifts and cranes. You may also plan and organize loading schedules, and inspect cargo for damage.

**1st Shift Warehouse-Cargo Screening Specialist Lead**

**7:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday**

**You are:**

A driven leader who will have responsibility to effectively manage, oversee and control all processing activities within the warehouse during the x-ray Screening process as well as ensuring on time delivery. The Lead will be responsible for ensuring the proper implementation and enforcement of policies, holding a high standard of safety and the continuous training of associates in the department.

**You will:**

+ Be responsible for the timely processing of all department activity including productivity, accuracy, and day end reports.

+ Search parcels by hand when it is suspected of containing prohibited items such as lithium batteries and other dangerous goods.

+ View images of commodities, using screening equipment, and alert parcel handlers to any possible restricted commodities.

+ Pinpoints the shape, size, and location of potential problematic items.

+ Monitor system responses, being alert and causes

+ Notify supervisors or other appropriate personnel when security risks occur.

+ Be able to work a flexible schedule which may mean extended hours as the work load demands.

+ Manage the work flow to ensure the daily activities/demand related to the assigned department is met as expected.

+ Coach, train and counsel department employees.

+ Ensure a safe work environment by: observing and coaching employees; addressing potential safety hazards; maintaining a clean work area; monitoring condition of all equipment and ordering repairs; and participating as a permanent member of the Safety Committee

+ Performs all other duties as assigned by management.

**Background:**

As an Warehouse-Cargo Screening Specialist Lead, **you have:**

+ One to three years related screening experience

+ Previous experience with x-ray imaging with the ability to read and decipher.

+ Ability to stand for entire (8hr) shift and have full range of motion

+ Ability to push/pulling/carrying lifting may include up to 55 lbs.

+ Ability to complete an IATA Dangerous Goods certification Course

+ Critical thinking/Problem-solving skills and attention to detail

+ Ability to plan, organize and direct the activities of subordinates

Preferred:

+ Working knowledge of dangerous goods regulations, 49CFR or IATA

+ Security, warehouse and/or aviation experience is a plus
