The Surge Shelter Security Staff ensures a safe and orderly environment during periods of extreme weather when the shelter is activated. This position is intermittent and requires flexibility to respond quickly when weather emergencies occur. Security staff work closely with shelter monitors and leads to maintain the safety and security of participants, staff, and property through consistent presence, observation, and trauma-informed engagement.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the opening of the shelter by ensuring participants are lined up in an orderly
fashion outside of the facility.
Assist with bag check of participants entering the shelter and ensure weapons and
unsafe items are either discarded or properly stored.
Maintain a visible presence throughout the shelter to ensure the safety and security of
participants, staff, and property.
Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to manage access and prevent
unauthorized activity.
Support shelter staff by calmly addressing disruptive behavior and applying
de-escalation techniques when necessary.
Conduct regular safety and perimeter checks inside and outside the facility.
Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, incidents, and safety concerns.
Enforce program guidelines and expectations with fairness, consistency, and respect.
Collaborate closely with shelter monitors to promote a trauma-informed, welcoming
atmosphere.
Assist with crowd control during shelter check-in, meal times, and curfew hours.
Document all incidents, safety checks, and security-related observations in a timely and
accurate manner
Participate in staff meetings and required safety or emergency preparedness trainings.
Remain alert and available during entire shift to respond to developing situations.
Report promptly when called for Surge Shelter openings and remain dependable during
activation periods.
Qualifications:
Reliable and punctual, with dependable transportation in all weather conditions.
Ability to report to work within 8 hours or less of notification.
Experience in security, law enforcement, shelters, or related fields preferred.
Skilled in conflict resolution, de-escalation, and communication.
Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or emergency situations.
Commitment to trauma-informed, respectful engagement with all individuals.
Basic computer and incident documentation skills
Ability to lift up to 25lbs and perform routine safety checks throughout the facility.

Highly qualified seasonal crew staff are recruited each year to support completion of routine trail maintenance, major rehabilitation/repair, and relocation projects. Crew Coordinators are critical to the effective operation of quality crew programs. Support Crew Leaders by assisting with arrangements for routine maintenance or repairs to vehicles and tools and providing other assistance as requested.

Finance Overview:
The International Finance Office manages TechnoServe's accounting and reporting function for global operations. The function lies within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer along with, Planning and Budgeting, and Internal Audit. Job Summary:
The Manager of Donor and Revenue Accounting will oversee the day-to-day revenue accounting operations for all global offices, ensuring all transactions are in compliance with US generally accepted accounting standards (US GAAP). The position will play a key role in ensuring all revenue is booked accurately and in a timely matter, all donor invoices and financial reports are submitted and collected on time, and all private fundraising revenue is reconciled on a monthly basis. The revenue manager will ensure ongoing audit readiness for the entire revenue function.
The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, not-for-profit donor reporting, audit and familiarity with financial monthly closing processes. They will also have a desire to work in an environment that promotes open, multicultural communication, and coordination.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities:
Primary activities include, but are not limited to the below:
Accounts Receivable and Revenue
Review new donor awards and contracts to ensure accurate systems setup and classification in compliance with US GAAP and donor regulations;
Reconcile and maintain an accurate subsidiary ledger for all accounts receivable and revenue accounts globally ;
Record and post all donor revenue and invoices and releases in accordance with US GAAP accurately to the general-ledger for the month-end close;
Oversee the cash application process to ensure timely and accurate posting of donor payments to correct fund and customer;
Act as the lead liaison between the finance and fundraising teams to optimize system integration and data reconciliation between Sylogist and Raiser's Edge;
Prepare month-end private fundraising and RE reconciliation schedule;
Prepare accurate monthly pledge receivables and global accounts receivable and deferred revenue schedule;
Develop and implement robust revenue recognition policies and procedures;
Work closely with the Regional Controllers to ensure all global revenue and receivables are reconciled and up-to-date for the monthly close;
Post revenue related inter-company closing and fund entries to assist in the preparation of accurate consolidated financials;
Escalate all donor related revenue and collection issues with the Global Controller and the CFO in a timely manner;
Provide necessary training and support to the field finance team related to revenue and accounts receivable process;
Lead the enhancement of revenue-related systems and workflows;
Support donor, statutory and organizational audit process by preparing accurate revenue and inter-company account reconciliation and supporting documentation schedules;
Treasury
Supervise the treasury accountant in ensuring accurate and timely notification and recording of all HQ cash receipts and donor payments;
Ensure all bank and accounts reconciliations for HQ office is reviewed and reconciled;
Prepare and post to general ledger investment account reconciliations schedule;
Work closely with the Treasury Accountant in maintaining accurate fund balance cash position for all donors;
Develop, manage and supervise the treasury accountant;
Other ad hoc and special projects as required.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of 7 years of experience in financial and grants management in an international work setting (or Master's Degree plus 5 years experience).

CARITAS creates a safe space to heal and time to rebuild. Our five programs provide solutions for shelter, recovery services, workforce development, and the furniture bank.
The CARITAS Emergency Shelter, as of the five programs of this thriving non-profit, provides compassionate hospitality to those experiencing homelessness in our region. Services are offered to both men and women on our Richmond campuses and basic needs such as shelter, meals, clothing, and connections to supportive services are provided. We take an integrated approach to helping people solve their housing crisis by connecting them with a housing specialist. This position provides supervision and guidance in the shelter environment and works alongside housing specialists, volunteers, and other CARITAS staff.
Position Summary:
Serves as part of a dynamic and compassionate team to provide trauma informed care to all participants.
Provide direct supervision of emergency shelter and facilitate a safe environment by compassionately enforcing program guidelines and policies.
Engage with participants in a person-centered, trauma informed manner.
Support in overseeing and facilitating daily shelter events and participant onsite appointments.
Assist in the complete shift checklist of assigned duties during shift.
Engage interns and volunteers as needed.
Encourage participants to engage in their housing plan.
Apply de-escalation techniques when necessary and support during crisis intervention.
Use Google Workspace to facilitate communication within the team.
Be trained on Lead Staff job duties in case coverage is needed, including shift reports and documentation.
Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
Complete assigned mandatory trainings to increase skills and knowledge.
Serve as on call for shifts that need coverage.
Qualifications:
Punctual and reliable, with reliable transportation
Ability to know and follow job expectations related to shift worked, including able to professional blend with program participants and other shelter staff.
Skilled in conflict resolution, de-escalation methods, and in trauma informed care.
Good oral and written communications skills.
Valid T.B. test within 2 weeks of being hired.
Current CPR and Naloxone certification required within 1 month of being hired.

We are currently providing incarnational ministry at many military installations around the world. You will have the opportunity to lead and oversee the overall Young Life Military program, known as Club Beyond, which is ecumenically focused and outreach oriented.
Responsibilities:
Actively develop healthy relationships with adults, as well as kids, and build vibrant relationships with the local community, the military installation, and the chapel community.
Be a role model (incarnational) and assist with developing community outreach to "unchurched" teens, discipleship to Christian teens, and leading and equipping volunteers to do "hands-on" middle and high school Christian youth programs.
Work well in an environment that sees (due to high military operational tempo) a high degree of turnover among teens, families, chaplains and volunteers.

The E-commerce Store Specialist supports 100% of the E-Commerce effort in stores and will act as the core resource in a store for evaluation of product to partner with the store management team to identify and select donated products for sale online to meet predetermined goals. This position will thoroughly examine each product to determine the correct condition, manufacturer, and other pertinent criteria, write concise, appealing, and accurate descriptions necessary to list items on the best online platform available to maximize sales. They will provide training to store staff on product evaluation and pricing for both E-Commerce and stores.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Maintain and streamline the evaluation process and technique.
Source high value donations from the donation stream.
Partner with and train the stores donations and production teams to identify and evaluate products for E-Commerce and stores.
Manifest products for E-Commerce.
Record and document metrics including production numbers and weekly goals.
Ability to meet daily goals of identifying high value products and deadlines.
Use computers, mobile devices, books and online sources to research value and authenticity of items.
