The Critical Care Transport Paramedic (CCTP) provides high quality pre-hospital basic and advanced life support including triage, assessment and treatment utilizing the policies and protocols within the scope of practice as directed by the Critical Care Transport Medical Director. The CCTP, in collaboration with their partner, will assess the nature and extent of illness and injury to establish and prioritize care needed for a safe transport to an appropriate facility. The CCTP will be responsible the ensuring that safety remains the highest priority throughout the transport continuum. Effective communication skills are required as multiple patient hand offs can occur in the course of a transport. The CCTP will also be responsible for public relations activities in the region, education of regional providers, quality review of transports, case study reviews, among other PR and quality activities.
