Carlisle FoodService Products company history timeline

1955

The first aspect of Carlisle that modern operators would recognize came in 1955, when a small molding shop in Oklahoma called Continental Plastics started creating the world's first plastic Bains Marie.

1978

In 1978, Continental Plastics of Oklahoma became part of the Carlisle Companies.

1985

Founded in Connecticut, Dinex® International began in 1985 as a manufacturer of insulated cups, tumblers and various types of decorative serving bowls for patient meal service.

1991

Carlisle Companies purchased SiLite in 1991 and merged it with the already acquired Continental Plastics to form Continental/SiLite International.

1994

In 1994, Carlisle Companies acquired the Sparta Brush Company, adding foodservice brushes and cleaning supplies to their existing portfolio of rubber, melamine, and other foodservice products.

1997

In February of 1997, Carlisle FoodService Products acquired the foodservice assets of Plastics Manufacturing Company (PMC), another historic United States Melamine manufacturer.

1999

In December 1999, after over 50 years of operation, Marko International, Inc. was acquired by Carlisle FoodService Products and continues to be a powerhouse in creating items like napkins, tablecloths, table covers and custom table skirts to meet your food service needs.

2000

In April 2000, the Dura-Ware Company of America joined Carlisle FoodService Products.

2017

In early 2017 Carlisle FoodService Products acquired San Jamar - adding almost 40 years of innovative solutions in food safety, counter service, personal safety and washroom products to the product offering.

2018

In 2018 Carlisle FoodService Products was acquired by The Jordan Company of New York, NY, transitioning to a privately held business again.
