Carlson Craft company history timeline

1948

In 1948 when Bill Carlson began the fine stationery printing company Carlson Letter Service, he could not have predicted the tremendous success it would see over the next few decades.

Carlson Craft’s founders, Bill and Betty Carlson, started the company in their family room in Mankato, Minnesota as a part-time business venture in 1948.

1959

In fact in 1959, Glen Taylor, then a college student, got one of his first jobs with the company — first operating a stamp machine and then becoming a paper cutter.

1970

In 1970, at the same time Bill Carlson announced his retirement, the company became Carlson Craft.

1972

A few years after starting the company, Carlson hired a college student named Glen Taylor who eventually purchased the company in 1972 and changed its name to Carlson Craft.

1990

In the early 1990’s the market changed and the company’s owners elected to sell the company.

1998

The Occasions Group was formed in 1998 to bring together five Taylor facilities as one company with one goal: to be the preferred social print partner for life's events.

2006

In 2006, Taylor acquired COSCO Industries.

2008

In 2008, the four companies combined to create Navitor.

2013
