Full interior renovation completed An extensive project that began in 1983 culminates in a full interior renovation encompassing the main auditorium, recital hall, and backstage areas.
In 1986, the Chamber Music Hall was renamed as the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Recital Hall.
The Rose Museum that chronicles Carnegie Hall's history and exhibits its archival treasures was opened as part of Carnegie Hall's 100th anniversary celebration in 1991.
In fall 2014, Carnegie Hall completed its $230 million Studio Towers Renovation Project, which included the addition of the 60,000-square-foot Resnick Education Wing to the Hall’s upper floors, creating a space specially designed for music education within the landmark building.
